What will be the benefits from using your wallet comparing to other options? Can you provide more detailed information about it?
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

hello devs,
there are a couple of questions

1. how can I remove or reduce donate-level in webchain-miner? the default is 5%! it is unreal expensive!...
2. How can I change the load on the CPU, reduce / increase the number of cores and threads involved? e.g. Rezen 7 1700

We were planning to apply for exchange listings after we release GUI wallet, otherwise it would be hard to move coins around Smiley So please wait for GUI wallet, and then we will start applying for exchanges

What? 20% Webchain premined, which are likely too much premined coins.
Which are the main purposes of those premined, dev?
I don't think it can have positive impacts on the price of Webchain and its trust on potential investors.
I suggest you to burnt part of those 20% premined coins.

Hello! I think the answers to your questions are here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3649170.msg36957197#msg36957197

You might also want to join the discord channel (on the annoucement) to keep informed. Thanks for your interest.

With Webchain, the use of intelligent contracts is becoming more popular, recognizing the enormous benefits!

That's one of the objectives, as you can read from the whitepaper: https://webchain.network/Webchain_white_paper.pdf

Quote
Webchain is a transparent web-mineable blockchain platform made to
support Decentralized Applications (DApps), where websites can serve as a
hardware-independent alternative to secure ERC20 & ERC223 smart contracts

Hello,
How to check balance in the wallet?

Hello! You can do it both from console or in the site.

Option 1: do it from console: webchain.getBalance("address")
Option 2: go to https://explorer.webchain.network/ and search your address on the bar.

Have you navigated to the webchain folder in command prompt first?

hello devs,

First of all, congratulations to you guys! You have done an excellent job! Really! I am mining this coin now and will continue doing so.
Btw, when you are expecting to release a GUI wallet?

Thanks!

Hello! Thanks for your contrats! We appreciate them.

Really soon. I can't talk about dates, but it will be sonner than we planned due to the great acceptance the project has had in the community. As you say, the coin is being mined before we have GUI Wallet ready, which means really good things.

Hi,

I can't create wallet, after unzipping the files I try to run "webchaind account new" in the console but it says that "webchaind" command isn't found.

Is it part of the pack or do I have to download it from another site?  Huh

Hi @charlypaz! Can you show me what you're promted with after trying to run the command "webchaind account new"? and also the directory where you unzipped the files.

The project has a strong and highly qualified team, which in my opinion is able to bring the project to the highest level in the shortest possible time and I hope they succeed. The team includes large specialists from various industries with many years of experience.

These are the files I have in the directory C:\Users\Carlos\Documents\webchain "config, start and webchain-miner" and I add run the command "cd C:\Users\Carlos\Documents\webchain" so I'm running "webchaind" there.

and this is the message I'm prompted " webchaind is not recognized as an internal or external command"
Charly, it seems like you don't have webchaind app installed in the same directory. Add to the same directory where those files are or try to run the command on the right directory.

Pavel

This is a terrible idea. I can look at the code edits you did to xmrig and then see how they can easily be modified for xmrig amd. So what is going to happen is that those with the technical know how are going to do the modifications, use GPU miners to start mining at a higher hashrate and then those that can't will be left behind.

If this algorithm is not GPU resistant, which it isn't, you need to either make it GPU resistant or release a GPU miner.

what you said is simply not true. https://cryptonote.org/cns/cns008.txt

let me quote

Quote
CryptoNight is a memory-hard hash function. It is designed to be
inefficiently computable on GPU, FPGA and ASIC architectures. The
CryptoNight algorithm's first step is initializing large scratchpad
with pseudo-random data. The next step is numerous read/write
operations at pseudo-random addresses contained in the scratchpad.
The final step is hashing the entire scratchpad to produce the
   resulting value.

Also less technical but more practical explanation, with comparing power costs/etc.
https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/1386/is-it-better-to-mine-with-a-cpu-or-gpu

also since this thread was written on stackexchange, GPU prices went up a lot (especially those graphics cards that are good for mining), so I wouldn't be suprised if CPU mining, at least short term was actually more profitable than GPU if you include costs of acquiring hardware.

We never claimed that our coin cannot ever in any way be GPU mined, but
1) It won't give GPU miner big advantage, it will be quite small
2) we will not support such miner

if someone creates it, great, but we will keep changing algorithm from time to time and he will have to keep rewriting it.

and all this for not so big profit compared to CPU mining? It still might happen, but effects will be quite minimal, thanks to this algorithm.

Our goal, after releasing GUI wallet and many other things is actually to rewrite this algorithm to minimize GPU minining advantage to almost zero. At this stage, we will gladly release GPU miner ourselves

What I said is true. Cryptonote can and is mined very well by AMD video cards. In a few weeks I'll prove it by releasing a xmrig AMD miner so that anyone that already has an AMD card can mine this coin.

As far as rewriting it, that will take all but a days work. So not really that big of a deal for each small change you make.
