200M total ~ 1451520 total blocks.  I pre-mined ~1.5%, and a couple other folks jumped on and started mining while I was testing.  I noted this upfront in the post...

Looks like I may have a bug on the difficulty retarget, will push another build shortly.

You mined ~1.5% of blocks but ~5.5% of all coins.

People hate when someone mines any blocks. Your coin is dead already.

Personally I think a pre mine is okay if the dev is using it for giveaways and bounties. Plus look at quark 95% of coins mined and still at top of marketcap list.

5.5%  1% is large 2% is greedy, 5.5% well thats a dead coin right there.

Too bad - I liked the molecule picture.  Op suggest you reset the coin with an official announcement on start time and do this for real. You could actually have something *if* it's real, and honest, and no premine.

I don't see a problem with premined coins if almost 100% of the premined is used as bounties, promotion or give away, if OP wants some future for this coin I think he should be creating some threads with bounties and giving away those premined coins.

Definetly relaunch, plus you need to fix the difficulty anyways so you need to hardfork just relaunch as MoleculeCoin and you might have a chance.

It doesn't work mate. Re-launch the coin with a new hardfork and no premined coins and it might work out. If you keep the premine, it will just always keep the stigma of having been premined.

This is what I'm going to do.  I want this coin to succeed.  Hopefully I'll be able to mine enough coins for bounties along with everyone else :-)

New binaries coming in the next hour and we are going to relaunch with no premine etc.  If you're mining on 0.8.9.1, stop ;-)  And wait for the relaunch thread.  I'm doing the Windows build now.

For CPU mining in general, what would a .conf look like? I tried it with this one using.

minerd.exe -q --url http://127.0.0.1:11875 -u myuser -p mypassword

And it tried to blow up my CPU (judging from the plethora of emergency beeps my mainboard started throwing off when I started it up).

The best way to keep Molecule from failing is set up a Giveaway Thread and just give away a majority if not all those premine coins to those that are interested. If not then this will fail.

No. It doesn't work. A re-launch starting at 0 without premine is the only way. If the premine is kept, this coin will just always keep the stigma of having been premined. If you want your project to be determined to fail, keep it.
