Yes i also left a lot of coins there and now looking at the good price a couple of hours ago i intended to sell them only to find this in the google cached version of the page:
"I0 Guild is being taken offline after the 24 hours of warning was posted at 7:03 AM (PDT) on 8/22/11. The pool is still running to try to get payouts confirmed. The pool will turn off in a few hours once the last payout has enough confirms to reach the exchange.

I0 Guild may return at a later time, if the currency shows any signs of revival."

Warning?Couldnt you send an email at least to consider it warning?

Yeah, and the prior notice did mention the site would go down for relocation but didn’t tell people to stop mining and withdraw all their coins.... In fact it implied the pool and mining would continue...   Either way, the bug in the I0coin code hit later and made transactions impossible to perform so it was a moot point.

Of course it's up to the pool operator to decide whether or not spend the effort to turn it back on. Given that it seemed there weren't really into IO coin (other than as a ixcoin protest move)...  I'd just assume those earlier mined coins are gone unless we get word to the contrary.     Of course, if the IO coin exchange rate attracts a noticeable hashing rate and the other pools drop in strength that might lead them to reconsider.

And finally, yea I tried to post my first response but it timed out. So it got posted twice. Seeing as thats not obvious to you I can only assume you must be pretty new to the internet...  Grin

I was hoping for comment from eleuthria about this.It left me with the same taste as the mybitcoin saga and i mined for month in the Guild and still am.I tough this is the easyest way to mine some I0coins without moving sowhere else and if this is acceptable behavour ofcours i will be hesitamt to use their services anymore.
For some reason i can't even sent a PM to attract eleuthria's attention. If someone can do that for me it will be nice.

I0coin literally broke.  The network stopped working.  The entire saga chain lasted one week before breaking down, but it was already broken after just a few days.  I gave warning on I0Guild.  24 hours of warning where you had full withdrawal capabilities, and even then the server stayed up for over 24 additional hours where I responded to withdrawal requests manually.  It took that much extra time just to give payouts enough confirms to reach the exchange before the network imploded.

I started I0Guild and planned on supporting i0coin for as long as it was earning enough to keep the servers online, but when the entire network literally STOPPED WORKING for over a week, I un-provisioned the VPS that it was being served on.  I was not going to waste money leaving a server online running a bitcoin fork that stopped functioning.  At the time it was taken down, we had 114 unconfirmed blocks, because we were almost the entire hashing power of the dead coin.  The total value of it all when I took it offline?  Under 1 BTC at the exchange rates when the server was deleted.

I am not clairvoyant.  The fact that after the i0coin network was dead for a full week and completely broken, unrelated people came in, tweaked the code, and "restored" the network doesn't change the fact that I0C was and still is dead.  What exists now is a completely different coin with different rules.  It just shares the same name and the largest block chain that survived the fallout.

I think the point of some of the complaints were the so called "24 hour notice" was extremely weakly worded and did not sufficiently notify miners that they needed to withdrawl immeidatly or else they would forfiet thier coins.. In fact the warning implied the site was simply being moved (at an indeterminent time) and the pool would continue to run... It wasn't until after it the site was taken down where any mention/sugestion that the pool was being solely to support withdrawls to exchanges.

Either way, sounds like the wallets backing the pool have probabaly been destroyed... And as pointed out previously all those coins should simply be presumed lost forever.  That is the nature of these projects, if anyone had any true value at stake, the code is open source and anyone could have fixed it sooner had they had the economic incentive to do so.

This is crap.  I'm glad I took my BTC miners away from the guild a while ago.

What I mined belongs to me.  Plain and simple.  What about those of us that do not log in every 24 hours?  I never saw a warning.  I was not even aware of a crash or anything.  I'm just now checking back since I mined some.  And I see that the whole site is gone.  I kept them there because I thought they were safe.

But I understand now.  "It is the nature of these projects."  Well that made me feel better.
