Now there's an actual HOdlcoin, for all the HOdlers out there.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

The coin has to be used, has to be in demand for hold to matter and I disagree its that simple sorry.   The people who contribute worth to this economy are creating ways for it to be used and the holding is incindental, while I go to sleep I'll hold coins even if I use them everyday.   The only real way for value is to get as many users and so accidental holders, revenue matters alot even if the business does not prove profitable it raises value for holders of the wider economy.

Both stories are true: adoption increase the demand, hodling limit the supply. Using bitcoins is good, but selling them for filthy Fiat is evil Smiley

as long as the bitcoin price is connected to fiat currencies, selling for fiat is something that will continue for many years. even if we do spend our coins in stores that accept bitcoin. these coins will automatically be sold for fiat by services as bitpay. that won't change unless they see the real value of bitcoin. most merchants that are accepting bitcoin don't even care about it. they just hope for a bit extra revenue. that's all.

I think it is wise indeed if you're going to do that. It would be a shame if you sell it now.
Because the value is in fact now quite low.

You're not HODLING until you're OP_HODLING

Gangster style.

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

I think that's very sensible.
The value is in fact now quite low and I think it's going to rise later.
It is in fact becoming increasingly popular and it is also frequently used.

Most of the users are holding what they have. This holding also affects the price of bitcoin.
When the price increases all that accumulated bitcoins for a long time will get into
the trade and that also creates surplus availability which will also impact price.

I also think it is wiser if you're going to save it.
Because I think the effect that it will be worth more later. So then it is more likely that you will get more money for it.

I continue to hold at least until halving occur or bitcoin prices could touch $500.
$500 may be the highest peak after halving so I'll sell

You may regret very soon after that. May experts have predicted $2000 price levels for bitcoin, just due to halving consequences. The better part is now itself bitcoin is testing $425 price levels. So, your target of $500 may be possible within this February.

You are smart. That is a good idea. Its is indeed not so smart if you going to sell your Bitcoins now on this moment, The value is now quite low.
I think that Bitcoin will rise up later and that it will be more worth. But I think it is now that happening slowly. But I hope it will rise for a long time.

Yes its the best way to make profit by the halving, I also still will hold a couple bitcoins so I can still make profit on the later days.
I think we just need to be patient and hold our bitcoins so we all can make profit later.

Yes you are definitely right. It will be a waste if you sell it now. You need patience.
If you wait a little bit longer then you have maybe profit in the future.

Sell in the future or take advantage of all the outlets/websites/apps that are now accepting BTC and use it to maintain or increase your lifestyle for a while Grin

I guess in future years selling Bitcoin is not necessary.More and more merchants and shops will accept it, online as also in real life.
It just takes some time and so you need to be patient if you wanna take a full advantage of that.
So hodl hard! Smiley
