Dev can you reduce the total amount of coins?
Maybe from 8.4 billion total coins to 3 or 4 billions?
Maybe a restart?

Because the coin will be now 1.5 month old, and there are only 4% of the total amount mined yet!
This is a nice coin, with no premined, and a good new ideas, but there are to little people on this coin (i dont know why).
With a reduce of total coins the price maybe rise and then people will observe and mined the coin.
WTF? Don't change rules after the games has started until it's absolutely necessary to survive!
"Only" 4% mined after 1.5 months is good. There needs to be a longterm motivation for miners which doesn't exist if all coins get mined within weeks.

Price will rise by demand.

yeah but how many people mining this coin? nearly nobody, because the price is to low, and when the price go straight to zero then, when nobody mine = coin dead.
With a reduction there will be hundreds of new miners.

or just wait a few months until the prices do rise. I am mining a lot, and I know many other who are.

I will not make any changes towards the code regarding the mining parameters, it does not matter what the price is and mining power.

Xivra was born to be a long term project and not to be a pump and dump currency. Many of the future plans for Xivra just take time. Therefor it was and is the initial intention that it would take at least 3 years before 75% of the total amount would be mined, while still leaving a sufficient amount to be mined (For Bitcoin this is 8 years). Within 2 years Xivra will evolve so much that people who got some while it still was easy will be happy.

I do not understand some of the reasoning. Why would Xivra be dead if nobody would mine? As long the client and code is good and there are nodes to connect too then Xivra will exist. ( I would agree to say that the more mining power and clients connecting, the more secure the network is ).
I do expect a big increase in mining power within 2 months. For this reason there will be a new launched by me today on a beast of a dedicated server.
Also I need to say that Xivra has alread more hashing power then Bitcoin had just 3 years ago.

I do think there is a big misconception regarding Xivra for some people. Xivra as a project is focused on the long term future to be a valid payment option, both online and offline. The focus is not that 1 Xivra will be worth $1,000.- or $10,000.- , the focus is that it actually will have a minimum value in the future. What the actual value will be on the exchanges is up on the users / miners / traders / investors. Personally I strongly believe that 1 Xivra will reach a price anywhere between $0.01 and $2.00 within the next 2-3 years and that Xivra will be able to be exchanged straight to USD before the end of this year.

Just remember that 1 Bitcoin was worth $2.50 just a year ago. Things can go fast in the world of crypto currencies.

If people want high prices for Xivra as soon as possible then I can only suggest that people make websites promoting Xivra, promote Xivra on forums here and elsewhere, accept Xivra in your online store. etc etc.  Get involved !

Peter

I don't see a block explorer link on xivra.com. you could add this one: http://altexplorer.net/chain/Xivra

also, I think you should make it more visible on xivra.com that anyone can set up XIV payment processing with coinpayments.net.

sorry if this has been answered before, but how do you officially pronounce "Xivra"?

Block explorers are already listed here: https://www.xivra.com/xivras-technical-details/

Apparently it slipped my mind to add the info about coinpayments.net . Will do today.

Thanks

Really? I Pronounce it "Shiv-ra" Cheesy

And btw. I seldom have seen a coin launch with such a stable network for a while now. I actually think it´s a good thing cryptsy, coinwarz and coinchoose hasn´t picked it up yet. No Multipools trying to rape it, yet (though it is quite secure against that).

It´s become my go-to coin, when others are fluctuating like crazy and it´s become one small, stable island in the sea of altcoins. That´s why I always have some miners running on it and I always hold a percentage of my Xiv´s, I only sell a small part from time to time.

My best guess would be that it is online in a month from now. I will not rush the launch for this, as security, stability and functionality need to be as good as possible.

It is possible to add Caribbean stud poker, but this will not be at the initial launch. I want it to be running at least a month without any problems before adding more games.

Please use another template. The template is in use with Casinocoin CSC. A lot of succes with Xivra though!

Xivra Gaming was announced already 6 weeks ago, and it is certainly not a copy of.

I am not saying that they got the idea from our development site but it is a general template we both used.

Having said that, it is easy to change the looks, in the end it is all about security and the quality of the games.

Peter

I certainly do not want to be linked to casinocoin, so I will make sure it will be changed.

I have made some minor updates to the source code, a checkpoint is added and more dnsseeds are added.

I will recompile new clients tomorrow. This is no mandatory update, the improvement will make sure that new users will have a faster initial connection to the network. No version update will take place.

A new pool is live http://mining.xivra.com/ pplns pool, normally 1% fee but 0% fees until February 11th. This is a new dedicated server with hardware raid 10 and sas drives. This server is able to handle a lot of hash rate.
