The Config file worked. Thank you! Some Kitteh coins will be coming your way.

No wait. CGminer says Im connected accepting blocks but the wallet icon on the bottom right of the wallet says I'm mining at 0 kh/s?

The wallet only shows mining speeds if you're mining via the wallet, which dates back to Bitcoin's original CPU-mining launch. Mining through CGMiner or BFGMiner will show your hash rate in the miner window only. So long as you see a hashrate in your miner, be patient. If you're not patient, try a pool Smiley

I have only learned to solo mine a few days ago. I tried it on a low difficulty coin like luckycoin just so I can see if I'm successfully mining. Which I did mine some coins. The Luckycoin wallet did show a hash rate. Albeit an incorrectly low hash roate. But, it did show a hash rate. So, does my Doge wallet. Not, seeing a hashrate in there kinda makes me worried I'm wasting my time. All I get in CGminer is multiple "Block detected".

Patience! Leave it for a few hours. Block detected is a good thing, it means your miner and wallet are connected. If you see that and a hash rate, you're on the right track.. Though I'd make sure that a pool will accept your shares in case you haven't tested your setup with a pool (i.e. thread concurrency etc).. If you're getting a ton of hardware errors or rejects unrelated to stale etc, that will also prevent you from successfully solo mining.

4000 chars available and all I got was this stupid tagline.

Is this a joke?  There's already a cat coin with over 1 gigahash of mining power on it and 10+ pools and p2pools.

To make things worse, you even FORKED THE ACTUAL DOGECOIN CLIENT.

The real catcoin had trouble at launch but works fine now.  This kittehcoin thing is just garbage.

Catcoin is garbage.. the client launched with a missing dll, the blockchain was a mess with forks at the beginning, and it's literally just litecoin.. The logos are all litecoin, the launch page is litecoin. Why anyone would support the dev behind that is beyond me.

now now guys.... just admit that both coins are total trash but we are still mining them eh?

Yeah, it's like arguing which one of two turds smell the worse. Lets just admit they both smell bad, and we can quibble about how bad later.

I just don't get why so little thought and planning goes into these coins. Are we really that short of technically-minded people that we end up with such ill-executed launches?

I'm using this conf:

rpcuser=***
rpcpassword=***
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=15678
daemon=1
listen=1
server=1
addnode=198.199.117.221:22566
addnode=82.173.108.213
addnode=84.110.183.206:22566
addnode=5.67.195.255:2256
addnode=151.236.10.190:22566
addnode=198.199.117.221:22566

And this cgminer setup:

cgminer --scrypt -o http://localhost:15678 -u *** -p ***

Getting the error: "Pool 0 slow/down or URL or credentials invalid"

Am I doing something wrong?

Also tried port 22566 but same result.

Soloing with client does not work. CGMiner not connecting same as post above.

No, it is not my settings.

It works for me but not on the port mentioned above - 22566. Use different port - 15678 instead. Change it in the wallet .conf file and configure cgminer to use it.

I changed the port and it's like this. Does it mean that it work now?

@zachamo: I tried to not to capitalize Kitteh but it doesn't work Sad

For anyone who can't seem to get their miner to connect, try using port 9332. I've had this particular problem with Cudaminer for some reason. It appears to be the maximum port number I can use. It always seems to work for me. It becomes kind of obvious if your problem is the port, as cudaminer for me tells me what port it's trying. It will always try 9332 for me if I go above it, which leads me to believe it's a limit imposed somewhere.

Cudaminer is going exceptionally slow for me on this coin. 76khash/sec, compared to normally 250khash/sec. Wonder what's causing that?

And this cgminer setup:

cgminer --scrypt -o http://localhost:15678 -u *** -p ***

Getting the error: "Pool 0 slow/down or URL or credentials invalid"

Am I doing something wrong?

Also tried port 22566 but same result.

Try :

cgminer --scrypt -o localhost:15678 -u *** -p ***

Also check firewall. If that didn't help try at port 9332.

Getting pretty low hash rates with Cudaminer as well. Exceptionally low. Operating at 25% at the best of times. I'm solo mining though. When it comes to pools the hashrate shown can be way off. They're basically guessing. What matters is that you're submitting shares.

The wallet is hard to get working with solo mining for some reason. Maybe its just me and I had used ports that were already being used by other wallets.

The RPC port that was initially posted does not work because it is the same port the client uses for P2P. You need to use another port. Any port will do that is not in use.

So far no fork. The CATCOIN that I was mining last night forked almost immediately. I wouldn't be surprised if different pools were mining on different block chains. Likely there are many forks of the catcoin blockchain and anyone mining it has a chance of loosing all their mined coins if they are on the wrong blockchain. I jumped off that one once I saw that crap.

I've been running on the pool for the past few hours this morning. I have 248,000 unconfirmed and 0 confirmed. How long does it take? I know it's 500 confirmations. But, sheesh.
