It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Has someone checked this Mooncoin-faucet already? http://moonfaucet.com/I'm trying to gather a list of sites, that have to be informed about the wallet-update, when it gets serious. I'll post that list into the new thread, to be completed by all of us. So if you come across a site that depends on a Mooncoin-wallet, like pools, blockchain-explorers, exchanges, faucets, etc., please add them to your notepad, so we have a comprehensive list afterwards in the new thread for contacting them. Thanks.

It's amazing that MOON is still around after 10 months given that the Dev wrote he was creating to dump and make some money. (I know that's what all/most altcoin's do, but no other Developers just come out and say it before release.)

Yes! given that the Dev wrote he was creating to dump and make some money. (I know that's what all/most altcoin's do, but no other Developers just come out and say it before release.)
And I'm sure, you can back this assertion with a proof (link to a post or something else) ...?

I understand what you said, and i don't know if he created the coin to dump and make money, but the real thing is WE the COMMUNITY believes in this coin, with the original developer or without him, we don't want any kind of pump&dump and fast money cheating people, we already have money . For me this is a project as many im involved. The reality is we are buying and supporting it since 30 satoshi and going down to 2-3 litoshi, and we want to create good coin, and site for any kind of projects related to astrology, moon, donations, tipping, etc... Then, we as human beings will create our reality with our intention and thoughts. LONG LIFE MOONCOIN!!!!!!!!!!! Be a part of it tins! buy some coins or mine them, or just think on possible ways or spread the real use we want to give for this coin. It's amazing that MOON is still around after 10 months given that the Dev wrote he was creating to dump and make some money. (I know that's what all/most altcoin's do, but no other Developers just come out and say it before release.)

Draft of a possible starting-post for a new thread (after a new wallet is ready). If you have any suggestions/corrections, please post them into this thread:... EDIT 14: Added AikaPool to the addnodes EDIT 15: Updated info (removed defunct exchanges etc.) EDIT 16: Added Hollandsemultipool.nl to the pool-list EDIT 17: Added Mooncoin Marketplace and more additional nodes EDIT 18: Added new pools to the list (iSpace & cryptopool.nl) and addnodes updated Important: this is a working-copy only! Please don't use the contents outside of this thread. If bitcoin is the Sun - what about the Moon?Welcome to the new Mooncoin-threadAs many of you know, deaconboogie - the legendary creator of Mooncoin - has been offline for weeks months now. After long time of waiting and trying to contact him by all available means, he still remains lost. Unfortunately, that left the coin in an inconsistent state, with former official download-locations gone with him. Hence, we as the community finally have decided to fork the coin and bring it to life again. Many people have helped until now, to make this possible: We have strong long-term investors and dedicated people in the community, to support Mooncoin. As well as die-hard miners, to keep the network stable and going. Last but not least, a new wallet is on its way, in order to solve some minor problems, that arose during the last months. This will require a hardfork, but more on that later. Based on this we feel, that Mooncoin has a very bright future to come. You'll find all updated links below, especially the ones to the wallets, as well as our nice logo. Feel free to participate and let us know, what you think. To da MOON!New block explorer here: http://moonchain.netWindows- and Mac-wallet: http://mooncoin.rocks/wallet-download Linux: https://github.com/mooncoin-project (compile on your own system for best performance) Web-Wallet: http://mooncoin.rocks/web-wallet(Caveat: Please keep in mind, that web-wallets are considered less secure, since you are not in full control of your coins) New Mooncoin paperwallet generator: https://walletgenerator.net/?currency=MoonCoinInfo: If you want to be as secure as possible, download the zip-file from https://github.com/MichaelMure/WalletGenerator.net --> https://github.com/MichaelMure/WalletGenerator.net/archive/master.zip Extract it on your computer, disconnect from the internet and you can then make paper-wallets most secure. The zip-file contains the whole paper-wallet generator for offline-creation. Just hit index.html in the extracted folder. Btw: paperwallets containing Mooncoin make a great christmas- or birthday-gift.http://mooncoin.rocks - http://www.mooncoin.comWhat Mooncoin is aboutWith over 384 billion MOON available, there is one coin for each millimeter of distance from the Earth to the Moon! Because of this basic element of Mooncoins foundations, the value of MOON will NEVER be diluted by additional issueing of coins. Mooncoin is intended to provide the thrill of big coin hunting and trading but with long-term stability. Based on sane block release targets, Mooncoin should provide years of good mining for all ages and equipment types. DetailsAlgorithm: scryptMax coins: 384,400,000,000 MOON (yes, billion!) Block time: 90 Seconds Difficulty re-target time: 8 hours Pre-mining: Absolutely none! On this date, Mooncoin will begin to release one MOON for every USD spent on the Apollo space program at an accelerated rate: 25.4 billion!
- Every block number based on the lunar cycle will be awarded a 2x payout bonus!
- Other specials will come in future releases. We're open to suggestions!

You should not need to do any manual addnode commands. But since the current wallet has old seed-nodes encoded into it, which are now offline, it can - and most probably will - happen, that your newly installed wallet doesn't connect automatically to the network (one main reason, why we have to update the wallet, btw.). In this case, please use this peers.dat and replace the existing peers.dat (it's in the same folder, where your wallet.dat is: c:\users\yourusername\appdata\roaming\mooncoin\), restart your wallet and it should connect fast. Alternatively you could create a file called mooncoin.conf in that folder and use the following as contents: addnode=5.45.105.66 addnode=moonchain.net addnode=aikapool.com addnode=cryptsy.com addnode=67.215.12.178:44664 addnode=188.165.254.191:44664 addnode=5.9.39.9:44664 addnode=108.61.10.90:44664 addnode=118.92.185.243:44664 addnode=125.237.61.198:44664 addnode=37.120.168.233:44664 Again, restart the wallet, and it should connect after a short time. I meant to add your Twitter-URL ( https://twitter.com/MooncoinItalia ) to the new thread's posting as a Twitter-channel for Mooncoin. Because the original one ( https://twitter.com/RealMooncoin ) by deaconboogie seems to be orphaned.

I have added a bounties-section to the planned new thread's first posting above.
The intention: Being able to put a bounty on something the community needs. That way, we could attract people to develop more Mooncoin-related applications. E.g.: shops, online-wallets, a mobile wallet etc.
I'm not sure how we can manage the transfer of the Mooncoins for that. At the moment I'd say, someone who would like to see some new application or use-case, could post into the thread and we can add that to the thread with his user name, so a potential programmer or so could get in contact directly with the one who is willing to pay the bounty. What do you think?
