...Tested every single Antminer with my Notebook Win7 and CGminer 3.12.3.
...I got 2,8 Ghash out of every Stick.
Well then, looks like a current limitation on the hub. The mentioned detection/communication issues might be related to this as well.

i do have an old thermaltake water cooling kit with 1 cpu and 2 gpu blocks. i think im gonna donate 1 of my 7 miners to the cause and see what i can pull on air then water.
same situation for me, I have a wb for cpu, one for gpu and one for chipset, all unused... And I have a 35w peltier cell as well, nice for some test :p but I'm pretty sure, with this configuration an U1 lasts little... so it coulb be for testing purpose, not for daily mining. Let us know about the tests! this is really nice, but are you planning to leave this for daily use? what is the expected duration of the ants @1.1v 3gh/s? Hi, my plan was to build it. i like to build thinks and if anybody is intrested in it a can sell it too.

well i ordered my resistors...... hope they are the right size. smd 603/1608 metric
types are 10k, 2.49, and 5.1 100pcs ea.
which should net me:
stock=.8v 1k-10k=.88v 2.49-10k=1.0v 5.1k-10k=1.208v
if it works out i can mod them for ya or send you some resistors for a very small price. like .001 for a few via envelope

normally its not voltage (unless really on the edge) that kills chips its the high temp (from the increased voltage) that degrades parts till they hardly/dont work, so good cooling offsets the increased voltage.

Here is a build_bfgminer.sh script for Debian Linux that works rather well. Add any build arguments in after ./configure to customize it. sudo rm -rfv ~/bfgminer/bfgminer cd ~/ sudo apt-get install git build-essential autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libcurl4-gnutls-dev libjansson-dev uthash-dev libncursesw5-dev libudev-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev libevent-dev libmicrohttpd-dev uthash-dev git clone https://github.com/luke-jr/bfgminer.git ~/bfgminer git clone https://github.com/signal11/hidapi ~/bfgminer/hidapi cd ~/bfgminer/hidapi sudo ./bootstrap sudo ./configure --prefix=/usr sudo make sudo make install cd ~/bfgminer sudo ./autogen.sh sudo ./configure make sudo chmod +x bfgminer

What this is used for? I'm using bfgminer but i haven't installed hidapi (with a raspberry pi), maybe is required by the last "git version"? Ps Very useful thank you!!!!!!

Hi,
just in case someone needs a finer speed setting:
Frequency | Hashrate | value | timeout 125.00 MHz | 1000 MHs | 0481 | 042 ms 137.50 MHz | 1100 MHs | 0501 | 039 ms 150.00 MHz | 1200 MHs | 0581 | 035 ms 162.50 MHz | 1300 MHs | 0601 | 033 ms 175.00 MHz | 1400 MHs | 0681 | 030 ms 187.50 MHz | 1500 MHs | 0701 | 028 ms 200.00 MHz | 1600 MHs | 0781 | 026 ms 212.50 MHz | 1700 MHs | 0801 | 025 ms 225.00 MHz | 1800 MHs | 0881 | 023 ms 237.50 MHz | 1900 MHs | 0901 | 022 ms 250.00 MHz | 2000 MHs | 0981 | 021 ms 262.50 MHz | 2100 MHs | 0A01 | 020 ms 275.00 MHz | 2200 MHs | 0A81 | 019 ms
or even finer for tweaking your individual miner: 237.50 MHz | 1900 MHs | 1285 | 022 ms 243.75 MHz | 1950 MHs | 1305 | 022 ms 250.00 MHz | 2000 MHs | 1385 | 021 ms 256.25 MHz | 2050 MHs | 1405 | 020 ms 262.50 MHz | 2100 MHs | 1485 | 020 ms 268.75 MHz | 2150 MHs | 1505 | 019 ms 275.00 MHz | 2200 MHs | 1585 | 019 ms 281.25 MHz | 2250 MHs | 1605 | 019 ms 287.50 MHz | 2300 MHs | 1685 | 018 ms 293.75 MHz | 2350 MHs | 1705 | 018 ms 300.00 MHz | 2400 MHs | 1785 | 017 ms
But beware. While playing around with this values or better some values not respecting the forumular given in the U1 manual I somehow wrecked my antminers clock generation.
Greetings,
miniasic.
Can anyone offer any advice on this? Are the above values safe to use without permanently damaging the unit's clock generation in some way? Thanks to all who contributed to this thread so far, it was very useful.

I've used 100 MHash/s steps a lot for testing/fine tuning individual ants. No harm done.

I've used 100 MHash/s steps a lot for testing/fine tuning individual ants. No harm done. The new cgminer (3.12.3) has a new funny option: ant-freq It is quite comfortable but has one astonishing problem... it only accepts multiples of 25 I wanted to try frequencies like the earlier reported 262.50mhz but that's a no go.

Trying and failing to get it to work with bfgminer 3.10.0 HEAD via this Homebrew tap on a Macbook Pro retina 13. Does this look like a broke Antminer U1? Give the fully compiled version of CGminer a try http://spaceman.ca/cgminer/ I'm running Mavericks and CGminer and have no issues at all. I have 5 U1 on an Anker hub with a small fan, overclocked them to 250 and get a solid 2.0 Gh/s average on each with minimal errors.

wow very impressive hope you dont mind me asking a few questions are you running that off the raspberry pi in the lower picture? and if so how are you configuring the USB? (something like PI>>un-powered hub>>powered hubs/ants?) also did you have to do the resistor swaps to get the speed above 2Gh/s? and did you have to direct wire the hubs? and chance of a link to the info or pic thanks in advance

I not configured USB, I used the Minepeon-Image and only updated bfgminer on 3.10.0. So far I not touched resistors. The Hubs are connected through a fifth HUB with 4 ports with usual USB-Cables, Power-Connection for HUBs I soldered directly on the HUB-Boards on the original Power-Connector.

The original supplies were to weak and the PC-Supply of course not had round connectors - so instead of buy extra plugs - I thought its simple solution to solder the cables directly.

Am I missing something here? Other than for fun/hobby/loving to tinker, and given the price and hash rate of the U1s, why would anyone buy the Gridseed 5 chip Dual Miner?
Is the dual mining such an amazing option?
To be fair, they do look pretty kewl, and I do wish someone with some design sense would address the current state of affairs of the flat rectangular USBs we have now, but that Gridseed seems really pricey.

After reading all this thread and learn, now I have 2 AntMiners working at 3.0 Gh. With out of the box AntMiner, step by step i change the clock parameter to 0881 (1.8Gh), after that value i collect many HW errors, so i add R2 10K and change R1 with 3.3K (dismounted from a cd drive board). Now all the errors disappear but the ant miner became really hot, i mount it on a dissipator (2.9 °C/W) dismounting the original one leaving the rubber and smearing thermal silicone grease, the coil also was hot (50°C). I'll post my mod pics later when I get home, but is there an acceptable level of HW errors? I have 3 versions of bfgminer running with different clock speeds and, depending on the ambient temp of the room, one of the Ants throws HW errors. It's usually about 0.8% or so, but it doesn't seem worth the effort to keep switching that one Ant from higher to lower and back again. Also, I'm seeing conflicting ideas on the heat transfer pad. Would removing it, adding a lil Arctic Silver to the heat spot instead, and then replacing the heat sink be more efficient, than that pad? Thanks!
