But beware. While playing around with this values or better some values not respecting the forumular given in the U1 manual I somehow wrecked my antminers clock generation.

Can anyone offer any advice on this? Are the above values safe to use without permanently damaging the unit's clock generation in some way?
Thanks to all who contributed to this thread so far, it was very useful.

I've fiddled around will all of the values above (well, at or near the max range of the Ant without modding power or resistors) and have had no issues at all. The Ants seem to let you know very quickly when they don't like something.

I've used 100 MHash/s steps a lot for testing/fine tuning individual ants. No harm done.

The new cgminer (3.12.3) has a new funny option: ant-freq
It is quite comfortable but has one astonishing problem... it only accepts multiples of 25
I wanted to try frequencies like the earlier reported 262.50mhz but that's a no go.

The actual option is --anu-freq

Version 4.0 of cgminer allows any arbitrary frequency at all from 150 to 500 and it will try to find the nearest frequency that it can try to set the device to.

hi guys , I've tried to mod R1 and R2 to the value of 10k and 4.99k according to the instruction for ocing, but unsuccessfull.  My 2 ants oced at 2gh to start out with but then they start to droped after 5 minutes of start up to the lower hashing rate, less than 1 gh.  I did have a fan on them with no heatsink though, the ants were really hot.   Without success so I  decided  to change R1 and R2 back to the way they were, but now my hashing rate stay about 1.54gh and 1.58gh at oc 0981.   What have I done wrong here, thanks for your help in advance.

Yes it is anu and not ant. Bad keyboard, bad keyboard!

I use actual 23 Antminers on 4 Dlink DUB-H7 - 3 are full and one just with 2 miners at the moment.
The HUBs are powered by a 350W PC-Supply and Ants are running without mod on 0A81 stable.
Cooling from downside from power-supply and from front with 120mm Fan running on 5V silent.
At all actual power consum 72W ! I have an asic-cube also taking arround 300W for less GH.

I'm noticing that even if I use a 300w PSU with 23A on +5, if I use the power connector of the DUB-H7 I can power at maximum 5 U1... was it the same for you? you use the direct wires for this reason or you didn't try with the "normal" connector?

I have an antiner u1 that has the red light and won't hash, it is recognized by pc nut not by bfg.
Any one experienced a similar situation?
P.S. it was hashing at 2.0 with more then enough cooling applied

Right, I've got the lists, and I've read every post in this topic, even posted quite a bit.

Cgminer didn't work that well for Ants, initially, which is why I was asking.

Honestly, I have no problem at all with CGMiner.
I had some with bfgminer but the latest build worked somehow ok - it never reached the clocks CGMiner gets.
I prefer CGMiner since I'm running Linux and I've been using it since I've started mining.
The lastest build I'm running before my new ants arrive is 3.12.3.
As soon my order arives, I'll use the latest version so I can use any clock.
If you give it a run for some hours at 250, you'll see they get to ~2.0Ghs.

Nonsense, the useful hashrate is showed in cgminer. The hw errors are not counted in the hashrate so it really doesn't matter how many hw errors you get if your hashrate is higher. I could easily modify the code to display zero as the hardware errors if you like. Marketing seems to be everything...

I have to wonder about all those hardware errors though. I asked earlier in the thread about their effect on the system.

All of my Ants run at about 2.10+ with bfgminer, which is why I'm interested in this.

The answer is at least with cgminer, you can ignore them if your hashrate is actually higher.

I get 2.236GH out of my antminer U1 running at a clockspeed of 280

EDIT: It generates heaps of hardware errors at that speed but still generates valid hashes at a higher hashrate.

Nonsense, the useful hashrate is showed in cgminer. The hw errors are not counted in the hashrate so it really doesn't matter how many hw errors you get if your hashrate is higher. I could easily modify the code to display zero as the hardware errors if you like. Marketing seems to be everything...

So there then is an interesting question: is a higher HW rate doing any damage to the Ants? I kept fiddling with bfgminer to insure zero HW errors, so I could likely go a bit higher on clock rate with cgminer.

Generating hardware errors will not harm it unless it overheats. Mine is actively cooled though.
