Are the devs broadcasting CoinDesk API prices? That's interesting, if a bit pricey for a broadcast service. How to use this to place a bet though?

Broadcast: 'CoinDesk BPI USD' = 856.5558 from 1Pcpxw6wJwXABhjCspe3CNf3gqSeh6eien
 at 2014-01-13T20:10:27-06:00 with a fee multiplier of 0.0010 (b844b81e...7580d4
f5)

Broadcast: 'CoinDesk BPI USD' = 855.2317 from 1CeQHd59TFKWQzsWYDXc9NDX2ooMSRpiqi
 at 2014-01-13T21:10:45-06:00 with a fee multiplier of 0.0010 (e0ab9cad...af90bc
6b)

For the record, that's a fee of 0.1% on every bet made on it. (SatoshiDice has a rake of 0.5%, by comparison.) And the fee should be high enough that the broadcaster is incentivised to be honest. (This should be largely independent of volume.)

Create a CFD, e.g., with this command:
counterpartyd.py bet --from=ADDRESS --feed-address=1CeQHd59TFKWQzsWYDXc9NDX2ooMSRpiqi --bet-type='BullCFD' --deadline='Jan 20 12:00:00 UTC 2014' --wager=10 --counterwager=10 --expiration=10

BTW, even though there is no guarantee for so many things when it comes to XCP there is 724.8935 BTC burned already at the time of
this post. Can't belive it. If I or someone else asked for 0.01 BTC for free no one would send it. All you morons would just go over that
the same way you would go over a guy on a street asking for a change to buy food. Fuck you! I wish you lose all your money invested.

This is a bizarre attitude. By burning BTC, any investor in XCP is effectively making BTC scarce, and therefore is potentially making all other BTC worth a little bit more. If you don't believe XCP is worth anything, think of investing in it as a voluntary "tax" / "donation" to help out *all* other BTC investors, not a destruction of real value.

I prefer burning my coins to helping a few individual rich. Many ppl must have felt the same, 70 coins burnt a day on avg speaks for itself. This is the most honest IPO coin so far.

I concur. It's about time there would be an even-distribution project, looking to advance crypto currency in general, rather then enriching some individuals overnight.

Still, would be great to hear the community opinion about bounties.

Really appreciate what you did in escrow of MSC transactions.

That said, to be fair, with 5% fee, I think you at least need to be liable to the loss caused by your incorrect burning or sending. That means at least you need to ensure the correct amount is shown in blockscan.com.

So??, I had been involved in bitcoin in since price was a 0.9 cents @ new liberty exchange, believe me there was enough guys laughing when price hit $1.. chomping at the bit to call it a bubble and ridiculing the notion of people paying $1 for a wow tokens. string of 1's and 0's- they were writing about how they hope all lose money in same way you are and don't come crying when it happens. same guys around at 2$, 5$, 10$ scream tulips. and so on and so forth. of course they will still be around in further 5 years.

equivalent in  what.. $611,000 invested Is that shocking these days to you? Meanwhile BBQcoin and Sexcoin- two copy paste junkcoins have higher market cap. You tell me what the fuck is copperlark with 1.3mil market cap..zetacoin? with 3mill, infinitecoin with 5mill? what do they bring to the table, any tangible benefits or just serve to accelerate dilution.

The comparison to giving money to beggars is lacking. If you've taken a cursory glance at reference implementation and spec you will see potential here. not promises of potential but verifiable potential. not just a concept or whitepaper but working code. Bitcoin 1.0 is not even mature, but "2nd gen" protocol layers and offshoots are appearing and it's about time. It is the future. This is not another-few tweaked params . ctrl+f replace on bitcoin-qt instamined shit coin made promoted by 14 year olds for siphoning off a few weeks of profitable gpu mining-- so it's absolutely not surprising to see the investment come in at the rate it's come in, it's only comparitively tiny slice of the future pie.

Definitely. The "no liability" clause is meant to be a protection in case someone takes legal actions against me.

As with all the other escrows I did, I would definitely compensate people for mistakes I make. And with counterparty being such a new and experimental protocol there could be quite a few pitfalls, that's why I charge a 5% fee for this service.

But to be honest, I don't think my service is needed at all, because you can burn Bitcoins without counterpartyd following the directions here. Actually, I'm encouraging people to do so. My service is meant to be a last resort solution.

AFAIK until the end of January (this date is set in source code, so no NXT scenario here...).

I just sent XCP for an escrow burn, the block containing the transaction was mined by BTC Guild. Sending XCP is done with multi-sig outputs at the moment, so I don't see any reason for pools not to include the transactions.
