Are you a team member trying to revive the coin or what? I can't figure out how you can verify that users posting their addresses were using counterparty before more than five years! I really wonder if this network is still supported by its community that should had been left it for many better alternatives. Sorry maybe i am wrong with my assumptions. Personally, I think this project was dead long time ago. I don't know if any of the dapps built in counterparty environment still running. I remember only few of them in the gaming industry which should be outdated nowadays.

Well, I'll tell you. You take a peek at the contents of their wallet using a Counterparty-enabled block explorer. For example, this is the address in my profile, I don't mind sharing it, its where I keep most of my Counterparty token collection. https://tokenscan.io/address/1864jXLSdbZq319oQScCNG1m7nLYbGHuBXIf the wallet has any token activity that is 5 years old or older, then its legit. Yes, you're wrong and you don't have any understanding of what you're talking about. Thanks for the drive-by shitpost.

This is clear by checking the transaction history for each address. He didn't mention that the address should have a transaction record to verify the user was a counterparty user before 5+ years. Ok it's obvious. Forgive my dumb. Seems like counterparty still has an active community. I will look for my old address as well. Yes, you're wrong and you don't have any understanding of what you're talking about. Thanks for the drive-by shitpost. Thanks for your nice way to say it. Responding to shitposting with nice words doesn't make your post a quality either. The report to mods feature is always there if you missed it. Thanks

With new developments being made - including new infrastructure, wallets & projects coming to life - Counterparty seems to be primed to make something of a comeback. I'm going to the Bitcoin Conference for the first time this year & am raising funds b/c everything is expensive as shit right now. The goal is to raise awareness of Counterparty's early & important contributions to the legacy of Bitcoin spam. Speaking of which, Rare Pepe enthusiast Subterranean will be hosting a talk at the conference, featuring prominent members of the Counterparty community as speakers. Here are some Rare Pepe & other dispensers I have open right now, most (if not all) are the lowest price available: ^^^ those bottom two are from my own Counterparty BitBowl game I launched in August 2014. This is the oldest collection of tokens on Bitcoin, unified under a singular theme. I did the research and wouldn't make this claim if it wasn't true.

Hi Counterparty people, I created a utility that lets you spend any fake multisig output created in a Counterparty transaction, from Dec 2014 - present: OutputSpenderOn GitHub: https://github.com/nutildah/outputSpender/It helps you build custom Bitcoin transactions to spend outputs not recognized by any other wallet. Scan any address for hidden sats -- you might be surprised. Its free to use (donations are of course appreciated) and Windows only. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

For those who are not aware, something big is happening on Counterparty with the launch of https://xcp.fun and XCP-69 tokens. It's a bitcoin-based token launchpad, kinda similar to pump.fun but with zero platform fees, and some very interesting differences. Fully powered by the Counterparty protocol! Check it out, it's slick, fun, and REALLY early. Works best with Dan Anderson's XCP Wallet (chrome extension).

IMO the most interesting unsolved problem in proof-of-burn isn't the cryptography, it's attribution. The original burn assumed the burner and the key-holder were the same person. But if you burn from an exchange withdrawal address — or any wallet where you don't control the signing key at claim time — a naive design mints the new coins to the custodian, silently.
What about a signature gate…like a burn should only be claimable by someone who can sign with the burn key, and burns that can't be claimed must have to fail…very loud, very visible rather than $$ to whoever happens to hold the keys. Unclaimable burn as donation to nobody; a silently minted burn to the wrong party is theft by design. The furnace should be verifiable.?also so should the recipient.

Part of me is happy someone is interested in Counterparty, and the other part of me says, "Good idea, let me get in my time machine and warn the founders." No but to be honest, the problem can easily be solved by only sending coins to the burn address from an address which you control. Everyone who participated was aware of this, and no XCP was lost through irredeemable burns (not that I'm aware of).

Yep…the history — Counterparty's burn worked because the participants were careful, right? Two points though: On xCP (none lost?) With silent minting, burn is invisible by construction, right? the coins just appear at the custodian's address, and nobody can distinguish … ‘user meant that’ …from …user just donated to the exchange. U can't measure the loss rate of a failure mode you can't see.
control your keys first…is a UX tax levied on exactly the users a fair launch most wants… the ones whose coins live on an exchange. The signature gate doesn't remove the footgun.. it converts a silent misallocation into a loud, visible, verifiable non-event. The burn sits on-chain for everyone to see, the claim never comes, and no value quietly changes hands. I got my religion on this by watching it happen: 900k sats burned from a key that was then lost — permanently unclaimable, verifiably nobody's money. That's the honest outcome. The alternative, those sats quietly minting coins to whoever happened to hold the keys, would have been theft with extra steps.
Love this stuff…
