Firstly, do not trust anyone. Never share your private keys. I use electrum wallet on an offline computer. It is easy to use, just google it you will find many informations and explanations about how to use electrum on an offline computer.
Yes. And set security when we log in as metamask and other applications support. I believe that if you just a little negligence, your wallet will go away quickly, the hackers always stalking our account. Do not log into bad sites, unreliable sites.

Bitcoin security is your own concern. You must ensure no one knows your private key, that your wallet is secured with a 2fa and always check whether you are on the correct website, without getting phished.

Keeping the bitcoin and other digital currencies secure is possible with the careful handling of the wallets by the users. In most cases being careless serves to be the major reason for the loss of bitcoin. To ensure security we need to enable different security measures that were provided with the wallet service provider.

The offline mode of securing bitcoins is called cold storage. Cold storage wallets are not connected to the Internet and are thus less susceptible to hacking. Since accessing a cold storage wallet can be inconvenient, it’s best to split the bitcoins you own. Keep a small amount of bitcoins in an online digital wallet for daily trading needs and keep the rest in cold storage. Cold storage takes the private keys in an offline mode, thus decreasing the chances of theft. The practice of using cold storage is not only popular with individuals but even with cryptocurrency exchanges that deal with huge sums and are often under constant threat by hackers. The popular cold storage methods are paper wallet, sound wallets, storage devices (like a USB drive), and hardware wallets.
Keep your software up to date. A wallet running on non-updated bitcoin software can be a soft target for hackers. The latest version of wallet software will have a better security system in place thereby increasing the safety of your bitcoins. If your software is updated with the latest security fixes and protocol, you may evade a big crisis because of the enhanced security of the wallet. Consistently update your mobile device or computer operating systems and software to make your bitcoins safer.

There are some ways to secure your bitcoins. You have to secure its private key and never disclose it. Moreover, you should use hardware wallet which is more secured and safe.

There are a few measurements to secure your private keys.

1) never disclose your private key to anyone or claiming airdrop.

2) beware of phishing websites, always check the website address you are trying to access.

3) secure your computer with antivirus software to prevent malware from stealing your private key.

I use a hardware wallet to prevent my private keys from leaking, you may want to consider getting one.

Yep. I think you really made a good point there.

Keep your private key very secure, and most of the times, you must change the wallet you use to store your bitcoins  in such way you reduce the risk of losing your coins if in case your wallet is hacked.

I believe here it depends from amount of bitcoins you wish to keep in the wallet. If you have more than 10 bitcoins, buying one ladger or trezor wallet would be the best possible option. From 0.1-10 btc you can choose some good free hardware wallet, for low amounts you can always use blockchaininfo or xapp, both are online wallets they have been around for years and they operate for all this time without problems.
Today there are many wallets, they are trying to give the best protection and user friendly platform to attract more people to use it. There are many reputable wallets, choosing one isn't hard anymore like it use to be.

For you to secure bitcoin be careful in sharing your private keys, never give it to anyone, try to use hardware wallet in order for you to protect it, as far as I know this is most secured than the others.

The most reliable way is of course copying keys to USB , in several copies - and carry one with you and the second to hide in a storage cell. This method is old, simple, and reliable. Well, or for example a tattoo with a key on the hand is also a good option)

Some bitcoin wallets use a lot of hidden keys inside. If you only backup the private key of the visible bitcoin address, much of the money may not be recovered from the backup.

Any online backup is vulnerable to theft. Even a computer connected to the Internet is vulnerable to malware. Therefore, it is a good security habit to encrypt any backup that is exposed to the network.

Single point failure is not conducive to security. If your backup is not limited to just one, bad things will make it less likely that the wallet will not be restored. You can also consider using a different storage medium, such as a usb drive, paper, and CD.

The wallet needs to be backed up regularly to ensure that all recent bitcoins and newly created bitcoins are included in the backup. Soon, however, all applications will use a wallet that only needs to be backed up once.

Some ways of securing a bitcoin wallet :

1. Install Google Authentic (2FA)
Google Authentic or so-called 2-step verification is an Android-based security app that works to make sure whether the users who are logged in will be the people who own the account. How it works 2FA menggenarate a unique code in realtime which will be used to verify when you login to a website. This unique code generated by 2FA will change in less than 30 seconds, so when it's over time it will automatically generate a new code.

2. Maintain Private Key
A private key is a set of encrypted secret codes and only you know, every Bitcoin wallet has one or more private keys stored in the wallet. Private Key is mathematically related to all Bitcoin addresses that have been created.

3. SMS Verification Code
If the website provides this fiture you must enable it, use sms verification code for every time you login. This is an alternative way to secure Bitcoin wallet if a website does not provide Google Authentic (2FA) security fiture as well as vice versa. this way can be used if you do not have Smartphone (Android). In this way every one is trying to login using your account automatically there will be a notification via sms to your mobile number that has been activated on security sms menu verification code.

4. Do not Store Bitcoin in Exchangers
This is often misunderstood by beginners, many beginners who interpret the Exchanger is a wallet. Actually the Exchanger is not a wallet, a place to store Bitcoin but a place to trade Bitcoin, Saving Bitcoin in Exchangers is a danger because Private Key is held by the owner of the web owner Exchanger is not ourselves.

5. Unique Password
Use unique and long passwords to make it difficult for other people who want to break into our account, the use of unique passwords is also one way to secure our Bitcoin wallet, use capital letters, symbols, and numbers do not forget to backup it to avoid unwanted things such as forgotten etc. My suggestion to write it on paper and keep it in a safe place do not store it on your computer Hard Drive feared by a virus stealing your important data

hello guys,
Recently i've heard about many people lost their bitcoin. Someway their private keys have been leaked and hackers get access to wallet. So what measurements i have to take to secure my bitcoin and prevent it from stealing ?
If you want to secure your bitcoin you must save in secret that no one can know about your bitcoin. Dont share your private key even in your family member. Because you invest and give time a lot, so dont allow others steal your bitcoin easily.

you can save your private key using offline notebooks, it may be the safest way to get in order to avoid a convincing crime through the internet. many people make the mistake of giving the private key to someone else or entering the data accidentally through the website that there is fhising in it. avoid and observe before doing something that can be harmful.

I think self-discipline is the core element to secure bitcoin or other cryptocurrency:

1. Don't tell strangers that you hold cryptocurrency on the internet easily.
2. Don't use "remember my password" function.
3. Use cold wallet.
4. Don't share private key to anyone.

Anyway more convenient, more dangerous.

I think the private keys of wallet or password should be kept as secret and should disclose to anyone. Besides, use different password to your account. It should not be use in other social media. Besides, before clicking into any website please check if it's correct.

Bitcoin is one of the best crypto currency nowadays and this crypto currency need to secure so we should not give to our password or key to any one don’t share details about bitcoin or how much they invested money or how many share they have don’t share with any one and make their computer virus free so that hacker never try to access the computer.

I think we can secure our wallet if the private key is we keep and dont open it your wallet if we have no needed to do and dont Share to other your private key so that no one can know your private key and only you can know your wallet.
