There is a useless troll in this forum, who keeps posting negative words about DGB all the time, as if it were only the DGB that was in decline at the moment, the whole market is down, and surely all the currencies will fall further, instead of being worried, I stay is happy, because this is the opportunity to buy more coins, who has never dreamed of a moment like this Huh When the market was up you looked in the mirror and said to yourself, I should have invested in early 2017, as I would like a new chance to be able to buy these coins at a lower price, so smile your big chance has come and maybe it will not repeat itself again, when this market starts to rise it will be like a rocket, and you will want to be regretting once again for not having entered that market, or this time will be smarter and will embark on that trip ?? It's your choice.
Remember right now all good projects are falling, including DGB, but do not doubt the potential of this currency in the long run, the DGB team is incredible, go to their official website and follow their script, go to twitter and be inside of all the news about DGB, you will be surprised.

DGB the coin that is falling the most today. It's a shame that this coin is turning into a cash ATM for Asic miners. Soon there will be no hope and DGB will die before other projects.

but why is it dropping like a rock???
i have quite some of them and the value vanishes like ice to the sun...
dgb dissapoints me soo much right now.... Huh

It's falling like this because of Asic miners who are selling non-stop to cashout. DGB devs are not addressing the mining issue fast enough and this will kill this coin.

Lol, and the gpu miners that use 10x more electricity hold them all right? Your comment is a total joke.....

The asic miners usually dump a coin much faster because asics are useless after a small time frame , so the users must take the asic miner's value back+some profit.

Gpus can get their value back even after 2 years + (in reality my first msi gaming x 1060 now was sold in bigger price than the price at which I had bought it ...!).

So yes , gpu miners usually don't dump a coin like the asic miners!

About the electricity now... probably you have misunderstood some things:
There are many guys (countless I would say) who use their single gpu or their 2 gpus for mining as a hobby when they don't play with their Pc.
Even those who have invested in small rigs with 4-5 1060 or 1070 cards have an electricity consumption of max 700 watts. This is a consumption , the cost for which the most can afford to pay , without selling their coins.
Those guys are much more in number than the crazy gpu investors having 20x1080tis etc.
This is where decentralization is based on.
They mine with hardware that they had anyway !

The Asic owners in contrast have a consumption around 400w per asic and it is extremely RARE to find a person who ordered just one ASIC. It is TOO specialized , pricey and mining only dedicated hardware that almost always you will find guys having farms of asics if not  around 3-4 (which are supported by the most usual 1400-1600 power supplies of bitmain).

So it is obvious that both from an energy consumption perspective AND  value take-back , the biggest dumpers are the ASIC miners and NOT the gpu miners.

Digibyte is forever growing to be a great currency. Every coin in the market from 2014 Is probably the most reliable.

It is falling because of the whole crypto market going down. Thats all. This has nothing to do with asics... Completely nonsense!

Non sense is ignoring the problem with this coin. DGB barely recovered today, BTC is up 10% and DGB went down 20% yesteday and today it's up only 10%. In summary DGB is 10% down despite BTC going up.

Why? I'll tell you why, ASIC miners!!!!

I cannot wait on Digibyte to be bullish again. I trust on Digibyte because it is a working product. It's fast and cheap. This should be the coffee money that Roger Ver wanted.

a bit short sighted dont you think?
true, i mine dgb, as i have nothing better to do with my scrypt miner. But; mosd dgb i aquire are by selling btc (that i mine as well) and buy dgb...

i look at it this way: if btc would moon, it would get at tops 4x value of current value.
If dgb would moon, it would at least get a value of 5-6, and probably more compared to current valu, so best is to get as much dgb as possible.

Relax my DGB brothers. The market will ebb and flow and trolls will come and go. When the market improves the trolls fade away and the crazy ignorant optimistic investor shows up. When the market is down, the trolls roll back in. It’s just what we need to put up with. When DGB starts it’s recovery we won’t see the new trolls for awhile, if not ever.

I hope you all can understand now.
The only things ASICs are doing are; A, securing the network and B, reducing the power required to mine a particular algorithm.  Right now, they are really helping to secure the DigiByte network as well as making some of the cheapest available DGB for people just joining the DigiByte party.
DigiByte is attracting a lion share of these new ASIC miners and needs to consider carefully disrupting this emerging market and possibly making DGB far less secure than it currently is at the same time.
There is really next to nothing that will remain only minable by GPUs, or this algo change at DGB would have already happened.
The centralizing effect of ASICs are being partly addressed by the current consideration of adding a 6th POS algorithm……maybe it will happen?
But if ASICs were the problem….give us your solution, what exactly would you be changing at DigiByte and why?....but remember Security is at the heart of DGB, so suggesting anything that will make it less secure than it currently is.....well isn't going to sound that great!

im really hoping they do add POS option some people dont want to mine because cost of electricity and or the fact that your computer becomes a mini heater(only convenient in the winter). This addition alone will bring investors by the boatload. Common DGB lets go Hybrid!

When will the algo change happen? Any date announced allready?

No algo change is gonna happen any time soon, if ever. The devs and their friends have been making big bucks since the previously ASIC-resistant algos became mineable by ASICs, something they certainly knew was gonna happen way before it did and I'm 100% sure they already had their ASICs ready to go.

The new batches arrived last month, since then the difficulty skyrocketed and killed the coin. DYOR instead of saying I don't know what I'm talking about.

Your line of thought is flawed because security is not a problem for digibyte and never was, ASICs just centralize mining too much and that's the problem with every major coin. It's sad to see DGB became a whale/ASIC coin.

When will the algo change happen? Any date announced allready?
