Message to all p2pool Operators:

To all those operating a DigiByte p2pool,

The p2pool network has gotten very fragmented with FOUR different types of P2Pools, i.e. P2Pools using dgb v1.0, dgb v2.0 with old networks.py sub_func, dgb 2.0 w/o updated networks.py, dgb 2.0 w/o dedicated SUB Func,... and what not.

It's time to fix this gunk up and get back in good shape!
Here's what we need to do...

ALL the following Updating can be done on the fly! Dont worry!
I urge all p2pool operators to:

    1. Update to DigiByte v2.0 and Compile the new 'DigiByted' with the latest conf file. (Do this, If you haven't done it!)

    2. You should delete your downloaded chain and restart syncing from block 0 (Do this, if you haven't)

    3. Start using a dedicated SUBSIDY FUNCTION for digibyte! (A Must!)

    4. CHANGE TO NEW P2POOL Fork! (I have the new Values. I will give them to you once i see that your p2pool node is a healthy one!)

Proof: Check the 'last blocks' tab in your p2pool and then compare it to mine: http://pool2eu.dgbmining.com:9022/static/
All 3 of my p2pools (pool2sg, pool2me, pool2eu) are on the healthy p2pool network

You'll find info on how to do all of the above steps here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.msg5440858#msg5440858

Lets get the p2pool network back in good shape!

Let me know, And I'll give you the values for the new p2pool network

Good news!

I could finally (after some hours of work ) compile digigyted on FreeBSD 10 x64 =) (1)

The makefiles supplied on Github don't work on FreeBSD 10, and don't compile with stock Clang...is necessary do more work.

Digibyte's client in FreeBSD ports is currently unavailable =(, so, I decided try compile myself and help to add new users to Digibyte.

I think with this new wallet now running on FreeBSD, we can add more DigiBytes users...

FreeBSD is a very very powerful Operating System and have a large community around the world .

Now is possible get more secure and stable pools (comparing it with Linux), currently FreeBSD have a B2 classification very close to be B1 in the Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria (TCSEC) better know as Orange Book (2).

I can make a 'step by step' guide to get digibyted running on FreeBSD , If Digibyte's dev team or someone is interested Wink.

I do have to agree slightly, how many people on here have actually spent some BTC to vote? very poor show when you look at the ultracoin thread.

Not sure what you are reading but we have sent almost 2 BTC worth to vote. We feel $1500 is more than fair to cover expenses to add us to Cryptsy. There has been very little BTC sent otherwise.

We are not going to send 10 BTC just to get to #1.  There are much better uses for that much money. If you disagree feel free to sell your DigiBytes and contribute. But we are not going to sell 18 Million of the premine and crash the market just to make an "attempt" to get on Cryptsy.

They have stated they are not necessarily going to take the top two coins with the most votes.

Tweet from CryptsyKen
Quote
@Ezra_Von_Braun @cryptsy not automatically top two. Votes key but other factors like quality of devs and diversity of support also matter

Many people paid-in, n bribed BTC during the allcrypt and mintpal voting period. Including the Devs.

I believe, its not cause we're out of faith or BTC... we've already given up too much.
Its just tht, this isn't the first pay-to-win vote poll, for an exchange, that DigiByte has had to go through.

The Devs have already paid plenty before and they did this time too Smiley

In my opinion the best case scenario for any coin, is to get volume and followers not by bribing its way up, but genuinely demonstrating why it is better. The best way we can get on cryptsy is for us to be recognized as a coin they would miss out on by not adding.
I don't understand your hesitation to get on a major exchange before building a quality community. If your goal isn't building something special, something inspiring, then all i have to say is happy pump 'n dump.

Looking forward to the roadmap devs!
