But as bitcoin stands those altcoins are suffering while bitcoin remains stable after all the corrections.

You think it's worth it if you only hold bitcoin for that long period of time? For me i would gladly take the risk of taking my chances onto daily to short-term trading, to long term-trading and not just holding a single token. You can do a lot of things on that period of time, you can buy more altcoins and then hold at for a couple of months or a single year and then sell it, you would earn much, much more profit on that than just holding bitcoin or ethereum for 3 years.
