I am excited about the new flea market that will use quark based coins. I hope it will take all of the quark coins..
Me too. I think this will really push up the value of coins if it takes off and will really show us which coins people want. Everyone has coins they want to spend, but this will show us which coins are people willing to accept for their stuff? I think it will help us see: How many FRQ is someone willing to accept for their used 42" flat screen TV? How many QRK is someone willing to accept for thier used washing machine in good condition? How many BTQ is someone willing to accept for their old iPhone 3S they want to get rid of? Right now all coin prices are tied to exchanges and how much BTC/USD we think we can trade up for. There are very few online shops that accept anything but bitcoin. The flea market could change all this and make coin prices based on what people feel the value of the coin is, plus it will make it easier for the masses to get coins without investment through an exchange or mining. I know it sounds uncomplicated, but even the fact there is a dice game is good.. In lieu of online shopping with FRQ, anything that gets the coin in circulation is helpful to its growth and i think will contribute to its activity on exchanges. Actually, more sites that take an altcoin, the more interest will be generated in buying the coin and the exchanges make profit on the fees so they will want to have a coin that people need to get for other uses rather than taking the dust from bot trades whose volume will depend on the interest in a coin. Makes me wonder if it is not more important to get a few simple sites using the coin out there than getting it on more exchanges.. I also think this coin (and other quark based coins) will come into their own within a few months. Scrypt asics will have the same effect that bitcoin asics did on mining. Quark is the next "go to" algo because it is CPU/GPU friendly with the glut of these devices out there. I was there at the beginning of Securecoin, and i think FRQ is the next coin with the ability to be a player - certainly much of which is due to developers who plan ways to use the coin - like the fine folks behind the flea market.. Wish i had though of that guys!

Yes, they just posted it. As i understand it, an exchange looks for at least 1 BTC in buy orders to be maintained and a volume of around 5 BTC per day to make the coin viable. Again a rule of thumb, but this is something I read.

FWIW... i tried sending a PM to the dev to see if they would respond about what they are working on or whether they had moved on. Figured it was worth a try. But usually Silence of the Dev's is a bad sign for the coin..

Shame...Fairglu I don't think is a dev and has done some really nice work for the coin and I really like FRQ. Anyway, I agree with RoboCoder 100%. Coins need more to function than a bitcointalk thread and a few exchanges to become mainstream. Dice games, faucets, pools, shops, marketing materials...anything that breaths life into it. I wonder if anyone's going to take over the FRQ source and maybe relaunch it?

Just noticed this coin is really cheap on poloniex, when you consider the amount of coins in existence. Going back a couple of forum pages, I could only detect that the dev is not that active.
Anything else going on?

Faucet was recently donated 5 million FRQ (1, then two batches of 2), and has also seen massive bot activity, so I've suspended it (pending bot resilience upgrade, in a couple days, I'm currently away from a PC), and I've moved the coins in cold storage.
Was the donation made by someone here or was it the premine? (Couldn't investigate, no PC...)
There are massive transfers in the blockchain right now, some is probably due to the poloniex closing of FRQ market but... ?

Doesn't look like the 5mil donation was from the pre-mine address according to: http://finder.fairquark.com/address/qLSALnUEFuBR5tjFudfHJx9SR3qAcfR2oYSo someone was extremely generous!

Re-enabled the faucet with a small amount and will monitor things more closely for a while. - added reCaptcha (annoying, I know)
- blocked TOR
The millions donated to the faucet are bit too much for faucet use only, so they may be better put towards other promotional stuff (free games, drawings, whatever, if you got ideas?) Before that I suppose we nee to see some dev activity, and maybe another exchange pick up with FRQ volume? edit: btw, I'm not an FRQ rich nor a dev, faucet is more than 10x richer than me so while I'm ready to push FRQ for fun & learning, the real drive will have to come from the big holders!

Raised the FairQuark dice limits to 500 for x2, x10 & x100 bets. This means if you wager 500 on the x100 address, you can now win 50,000 FRQ !

So where were we... FairQuark 99% premine scam + Double the block times and half the inflation. The developer doesn't even know mid school mathematics.
I wouldn't even exchange 1 peercoin for all frq available. Obvious trolls are obvious. FQ has issues. coolisbad = troll FQ design has a few xyz flaws coolisbad = troll. FQ has xyz bug coolisbad = troll FQ ROCKS coolisbad = Not troll. After seeing Quark’s superior potential ruined with 98+% premine, Troll...

Seems people are still mining, but no dev activity, Fairglu's faucet seems down. Looks like it died off.

Some problem at the host, which should be sorted out today or tomorrow (same for my P2Pool node), I moved other VMs to backup hosts, but these couldn't be. But yeah, not much life left. Interestingly enough, the premine doesn't seem to have budged, devs just gave up apparently, which makes the devs goal a bit of mystery. At some point they did have some good trends and presence on poloniex, but they stayed silent, so it all tapered off. There is a 1 satoshi "buy wall" at allcrypt, but pumping looks risky given the large bag holders, and the low trade volumes at allcrypt. Anyway, personally it was a good coin to learn and mess with crypto
