MtheK, the ticker for all markets at Poloniex can be fetched in JSON format from poloniex.com/ticker.

Looks like a nice app!

Thanks for that!
But NXT Watcher focuses on drawing charts of the price history, do you provide an API for that?

Trade history can now be fetched:

Not the sites fault, but moon took two days to get 1900 coins confirmed. (6) needed on exchange, 3 (needed from wallet to exchange).
I had to start a miner to get the coin to move, someone had to compute the transaction.

Anyone know why moon travels so slow ?

Add QQCoin. This coin has some momentum and only coinedup has this coin. And coinedup is ok, but it is slowier than slow (need at least 3 attempts to make an order. Everytim eI have to wait 30sec, than error, go back and try again). Poloniex is fast.

As I've said before, I really like this exchange, and I really like the fact that the actual dev is responding to this thread. I can really see this exchange becoming big if busoni continues like this.

But, as always I also have some recommendations left Wink

At this moment the biggest issue I have with the exchange is that it is not automatically refreshing. I can live with it at the moment, but if you start getting more volume, and thus faster changes in coin value, I think this will be a necessity. I understand that this will probably involve a lot of coding to make it happen, but I would really love to see this. For example, when adding a sell order, I get the confirmation window, but afterwards the sell order is still in the form, and not in 'My open orders'. Also the prices at the markets overview do not change except for when you refresh.

I don't seem to have that problem. They usually go straight into "Your open orders". Ocassionally though they seem to get stuck in there. They show up in the "Your Open Orders" box but they aren't shown in the main "Sell Orders" box. Refreshing the page doesn't seem to move them up. Right now I have a few DOGE stuck. It's odd.

Really great site in general. New features added all the time and nice quick interface.

I just tested it, and you are correct that sometimes sell orders are in 'your open orders' but not in main 'sell orders' box. I just tried it with some preminecoin (PMC). I refreshed a few times, and after like the 5th time or so, it finally was in the 'sell orders' box.

The display of the order book froze overnight. The actual order book and exchange continued to function.

Time for another technical explanation. Until now, there were two ways the order book and trade history were fetched. When you first load the page or refresh it, they were fetched from a text file on the server that was updated every second by a server-side daemon. Every sixty seconds, or right after you place an order, the info is fetched in a different way--directly from the database.

The first method was put in place to reduce database queries. But it has proven to have a critical flaw--if that daemon goes offline, people can see out-of-date info, and that can cause people to make the wrong trades. In light of this, I have just switched all order book and trade history fetching to the second method--it is always fetched directly from the database. This means that it can no longer be out-of-date when you refresh the page--if it's there, it's up-to-date.

The candlestick chart is still fetched in the old way, because it takes a lot more processing power to construct. Perhaps in the future the construction of the chart can be moved to the client side.

Why do people keep asking for this? https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_max

Address generation is running a bit slow now. It will take less than a minute once the new server arrives.
