Yep. It's, called Capitalism. You have to have people at the top if you want people at the bottom, and without people at the bottom, there wouldn't be anyone at the top. The bottom want to be at the top, and the top don't want to be at the bottom. Of course it's unfair. It's Capitalism.

My brain collapsed.

Was it difficult to understand? It's quite simple.

The Alpha version can be found by downloading Nxt.

Nxt is just a testing ground,  a proof of concept.

The actual free and fair distribution of NEX will come in a month's time while we collect participants.

It would be unfair to abruptly cut the distribution to a just a few and privileged.

Are you implying there will be a heavy premine of NEX? The word premine doesn't really make sense for a pure PoS coin, but yes, if the dev holds a significant amount of NEX, then there is a risk that once it gains market value, it could be dumped, making NEX worthless. So a coin that began as worthless, promoted by its supporters, then gains value, goes back to the value from whence it came.

Of course the dev is entitled to a slice of the pie, but if that slice is too big, then NEX might not be worth anything in the future. However the risk is extremely minimal as the cost of the coin is free. Only anyone investing time and money into NEX would lose out if it got dumped. Also by supporting the network you are supporting the coin in a sense, so your PC becomes complicit in NEX gaining value.

HOWEVER, you lose nothing by holding NEX if your PC is running anyway, and even with the aforementioned risk, it is still worth getting some NEX. Pretty low risk of loss Grin

If the dev makes the amount he will hold public, and it is a reasonable amount, then NEX will have value.

Even purely as a social experiment I find this fascinating. I hope the Dev sees that holding a smaller stake and letting it gain significant value would be more profitable than holding a high stake and slowing down NEX adoption and causing it to have little value.

No. I just point that this guy has a weird sense of fairness.

Anyway NEXX is much better.

I could have said "You have to have people at the bottom if you want people at the top, but it means the same thing. You need one to have the other. It was just the way I phrased it. The top want people to be at the bottom, and the bottom want people to be at the top. It's a symmetry.
For what? It's simplification. Not so smart top-people, ofc, asserting itself against bottom-people, but smart ones don't wanna social voltage at all. Everybody'd be on top, and techrevs step by step taking us there. Today almost everyone can read and have access (less or more easy) to unbelievable database of human knowledge, vast amounts of work have become mechanized. Some hundreds of years ago it was just unimaginable.

U can't get off risks, so Elysium-like future possible as well, if not so smart'll win.

Well, all crypto coins are basically worthless. People are what give coins value, not the coins themselves. I hold 10 million of some altcoins and it's absolutely worthless, but if enough people said it had value, by buying it for BTC, or trading it, or using it to buy or sell goods, then it would be valuable.

It being free just negates the coin having a precedent; a value already placed on the coin as a benchmark. The value would be entirely dependent on the market. It's by no means worthless. It depends on market confidence, which depends on the developer's execution of this idea and the people who deal in NEX.

When Bitcoin came out, it was given away free.

Buying a Pizza for 10,000 BTC, meant that Bitcoin at that time was virtually free.

Value is created because of network effects.

Yes, this is true, but people who don't aspire to be at the top in this way aren't being capitalist. I was only speaking of capitalist ideals. Philanthropy may get you to the top, or may be employed by people at the top, but it's not a capitalist ideal.
