The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Can I just check with you guys that I have this right?

Got the wallet, d/l'd the blockchain, put the wallet into my appgdata/roaming/chaincoin folder, copied the .conf file to same folder and put my wallet address into the rpduser variable and started the qt,
Then put setgenerate true into the console.

.conf looks like this:

rpcuser=CMrEk9dnMfY5K6oUUdxmWWteN9v7fEa1L8
rpcpassword=password
server=1
listen=1
genproclimit=-1
generate=1
addnode=95.85.58.168
addnode=192.241.156.143

Using getmininginfo it responds:

{
"blocks" : 350,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 0.01116246,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 100473,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

Is it working?

I have no password on my wallet yet.

Finally, can I expect anything running an i7 at 4ghz?

Thanks guys, my first venture into SHA mining.

All i did was open the wallet and start mining.
I've gotten 48 coins so far on a Pentium processor, been at it for about 10 minutes

difficulty tripled since i started though.

make sure is not orphan... if you ever see a question mark after one confirmation, you will need to restart your wallet to re-sync again.

Msg me if you want me to put anything here.
