I just remembered that I have some RDD laying around (mined them back when RDD started) and migrated to the current v1.3.1.1-gd6a1106-beta wallet.
The wallet is encrypted and unlocked and says that it's staking and that I have to expect to earn a reward every 13 hours.
However, stake says always 0.00 RDD and I've received no rewards so far after 2 nights.
Does the wallet need to run continuously ALL the time for this?
Other POS wallets just catch up when you open them after a day or so...
even with 1m reddcoins you can barely mint new coins and yes you need to keep the online wallet open Had it open for 2 and a half day now, not a single coint minted. About 1.2m RDD in this wallet.

because the current market supply is already at 26+ billion redds, we are nearing to mine all redds. So with only 1m+ your chances are low to mint new coins.

All the coins already mined and in oure wallet? Why Cryptsy takes long time to fix RDD wallet (is currently offline)? Because?? Panic sales? Or maybe bad news???

Why I sold 10,000,000 RDD:
Let me tell everyone a little something about Reddcoin from my perspective... This coin started out under the fury of Dogecoin. Someone saw the success of the coin and made a similar coin. Even had a silly alien as the logo, notice the name Reddcoin is similar to REDDit and even has an alien logo? Hmmmm... And smart enough to neither confirm nor deny they were utilizing this wordplay to their gain... This "group" then setup a subreddit, and purchased subscribers and thousands of fake subscribers and spammed the new coin. They then had a very "quiet" IPO, which I suspect would have been to been allowed for "select" investors...
Then everyone was fighting in DOGEcoin some wanted to take the coin on a more "serious" path, others wanted to stay the way it has always been, fun, positive, and good, but not serious... Reddcoin saw the market and changed its logo, and at the same time people started to flock to it... The developers started to say "Hmmm I got something real here..."
So my 2 cents, Doge was a joke coin gone legit, Reddcoin is a scamcoin gone legit...
I am not saying to not invest because of that. But I digress...
So now you have a coin that wants to be incorperated into social media like Facebook, Twitter, etc... Which I think is genius especially when it comes to tipping artists (Soundcloud, DeviantArt etc...) But DOGE has attempted this, and many other coins have attempted this, why would Reddcoin prevail over all of those?
Also look at Dogecoin, it has TREMENDOUS success and huge milestones such as the world olympics and even a NASCAR car, but the price never budges... why? I believe market saturation. There are 88 BILLION DOGEcoin. That is 88,000 Millionaires!
Reddcoin has 26 Billion coins, 26,000,000,000! That is 1/3 of Dogecoin, mind you Dogecoin is the most widley accepted cryptocurrency of this kind and it is valued at 25 sats while maintaining 5x Redccoins volume. That's right, Reddcoin has 1/5 the volume of Dogecoin and is already nearly 85% of the value, so thinking it will go up is unlikely. There is not a single coin over 10,000,000,000 worth more than 25 satoshi.
Besides the huge available coin saturating the crypto world, there are literally 100's, pushing thousands, of coins offering the same service, and I promise you many will be moving into the social media market, but this one just doesn't fit the bill IMHO... And if FB, or any other social network, was willing to incorporate Reddcoin tipping, it would have done it by now... In fact that would have been a developers top priority, and if it wasn't, I would be concerned.
Have fun with this coin, as I have, but don't expect or chance any serious investment here.
As you can see I got out and glad I did. I got in on Rdd around 4 sats and held when it hit 40 at sold at 15-16. I would be very careful with this coin.

Oh.. what a good person you are.. are you shure is that the only reason? 100% certain. Many of us had our hearts broken with DOGE, and now REDD, if I can help people avoid that feeling, I will.

Whenever says something that people don't like, even when they are facts, they are just called a troll. I don't think you know what a troll is. I offer facts and advice on this coin. In any rate, Good luck, for your sake I hope I am wrong.

Indeed his on repeat. Reddcoin is one of the few coins that you can trust. Yes, the price varies so look the same on the Bitcoin. If you want to be an investor, you should be able to wait. If you want to be a trader, learn it and do not listen to stupid advice! Agreed, I`m quite informed about the market, i'm not a pro but i have an ideea of what`s working and what`s not. Appreciate your advice!

It's measured by coin-age. As in, 1 coin sent to your wallet today will accrue one coin-day of age every day for a month. The next month it will accrue 1/2 a day of coin-age per day, the third month 1/4 day of coin-age per day. So after X amount of time your coins will only accrue 2 months of coin-age. Velocity is measured when you move your coins. If I sent 100 RDD to an address, the coin-age of those coins would be reset and the wallet holding them would accrue coin-age. Basically, the intention of PoSV is to help enliven activity within the community to use reddcoin rather than hoard it. After a certain amount of time the coins stop aging. Whenever you mint coins, the coins used to create the stake are also reset. If you have 100,000 coins sent to you and 10 days pass, you have 1,000,000 coin-days. If you stake and mint a chunk of coins, you now have 100,100 coins and 0 coin days for at least 8 hours, until the coins mature again. Then the process repeats. If you have 100,000 coins and have waited for months with no stake, it may benefit you to move the whole chunk into a different wallet and accrue coin-age again from scratch. The best bet really is to let them just do their thing and spend them on something useful, rather than trying to game the system...
