Yes these devs have made some mistakes along the way BUT they have done everything that they said that they were going to do and kept their word though out the entire thread.

so whats premine used for? there was no single giveaway here.

The way that I see it is that they have had a lot of fires to put out all week and they seem to be working hard on it.  It's only been out 8 days and of the 3K coins pre-mined, there is a promo going around twitter for a total of 50 coins (I think).  It is reasonable for the developers to keep .5% of overall coins for themselves (around 700-800 coins) so lets hope that they remain honorable and invest the rest back in to the coin.  I think giveaways help (and would love one myself hint, hint) but there are many ways to skin a cat.

As with any coin including BTC in it's beginning, only time will tell if it will succeed.  If the developers do their part to make it succeed, then the investors will take the ball and run with it at which point I have made a smart choice.  Wink  A 5X-10X increase in value on any coin that survives launch doesn't seem unrealistic does it?

My wallet is stuck with block 8598? I deleted the blockchain files and it started syncing again but stopped at that point again...

Hi, everyone who is having issues with wallets syncing, please update to new Windows QT or Mac QT, I've just uploaded them to the website today

Mac QT: http://astrocoin.biz/astrocoin-macosx.zip

Please also delete the "peers.dat" file in your Astrocoin folder before launching the new client,

On Mac OS X its located in ~/Library/Application Support/Astrocoin/peers.dat

Updated Mac client from previous one. Deleted peers.dat. I have 7 active connections but frozen at block 8616.

Its not frozen, confirms are just taking forever until diff goes down today

Yes, but why would that affect my client catching up to the existing blockchain?

Edit- put back in original peers.dat file and now it synced 100%. Saying 8617 is the last block. Is that correct?

Yep!

We're tanking on coinedup....Is this because diff is about to lower? I hope the miners don't dump on us.

We're tanking on coinedup....Is this because diff is about to lower? I hope the miners don't dump on us.

Some miners hold coins until they hit bigger exchanges, shoot up in price, then dump. Others just mine most prof on multipools and dump immediately.

If anyone here has followed RonPaulCoin (RPC), Astro seems to have some of the similar problems with diff adjustment and miners coming/going. Ultimately RPC was forked so diff adjusts every 48 blocks and no more than 11% at any given adjustment. Seems Astro would benefit from a similar fix.

There was no need to worry

QUESTION.

I mined at http://astrocoinpool.com most of the night.
Nothing was added to unconfirmed at all.
I decided to take what had been sitting in my confirmed from before.
Made a manual withdrawal.
Nothing has arrived.
Dashboard now says 0.0.

Is this normal?

Went over to http://coin-base.info/astrocoin/

within 15 minutes of starting mining values are being entered into unconfirmed, versus all night at astrocoinpool.com for nix.

I think astrocoinpool is broken.

Just wanted to leave an update about hashhunt.in: looks like their PIN reset, contact form, and withdrawals are working again. Just received my (unconfirmed) ASR in my wallet.  Smiley
