Not all altcoin do obtain their prices from bitcoins price. Some altcoins do well when bitcoins are bleeding in the market and the whole market is bearish. To say altcoins price are base on bitcoins means they are directly related, which is not so.

Bitcoin price influence largely the price of all altcoin in the market. This is the fact that we trader will look upon to. The movement of btc makes the altcoin follow on the direction where it heading. Maybe because btc was uses to peer all altcoin in the market. Furthermore, newcomers use bitcoin as a gateway to cryptocurrency.

I think that is really the case because as we can see, if bitcoin price falls down, alts also seems to follow down and vice versa. That's simply because bitcoin is the base currency of the cryptomarket and alt coins have a pairing value with bitcoin. You can read further on this article for more.

Is price of the altcoin is based on price of the bitcoin?I have noticed the price of bitcoin falling down for past few days on same the price of altcoins are also falling down

Since the creation of alternate coins (altcoins) were based on bitcoin itself (which was the first cryptocurrency ever), some altcoins have this direct-proportional relationship with its market value with bitcoin. If a country prohibits the utilization and use of bitcoin, this implies that altcoins would soon follow the trend and eventually lose its value slowly. Although this happens frequently in the market, some altcoins have their established values which are separated from the events happening in bitcoin (i.e. Ethereum).

Obviously. The price of the altcoins are depending on bitcoin. If the price goes down then price of altcoin also gets down. There is a connection of them directly or indirectly.
Bitcoin is known as base currency which has control over other cryptocurrencies on the basis of its affects. The stock market and other cryptocurrencies also goes with the Bitcoin which is said by experts and said further that it will act independently in future and will not effect other currencies. Altcoin and other best coins moves with the Bitcoin as explained due to its base currency honor.

Most of the time it happens but there are some altcoins that show green positive remarks despite bitcoin falling down in the market. I think that the reason on why that happened is due to some prohibitions made to bitcoin that resulted to some investors shifting their interest towards another coin.

Yes of a truth, the prices of altcoin, rises and fall as a result of Bitcoin,it still affects even etherium, bitcoin is indeed the  king of Cryptos..
Yeah it is right, when the price of bitcoin fell down Altcoin also sank. The whole market influenced by bitcoin because bitcoin is the leading crypto in the world and small coins take effect of bitcoin. Altcoin prices also grew when bitcoin price was $20000 and when we saw dip in bitcoin price Altcoin also dropped. There is an unseen link between bitcoin and Altcoin.

The exact altcoin price will depend on the bitcoin price. Because most of us trade on BTC / altcoin.
Bitcoin up = altcoins down
bitcoin down = altcoins sink

At first, I think that altcoin prices are heavily dependent on bitcoin, but the fact is not, altcoin and bitcoin have similar properties, namely supply and demand. The amount of supply and demand depends on the activities of each community, both bitcoin nor altcoin communities. So basically, the price of cryptocurrency's largely determined by most of its users.
This is still an enigma that is to be solved. Some people say bitcoins and altcoin are totally independent from one another and some say the opposite. They establish an inverse relation between these two. Now, this must be solved by the development teams of these both type of coin family. Only then a solid and authentic answer can be obtained. Waiting for them to respond.

Maybe it is. One thing I have come to notice about all these altcoins is that they follow the Bitcoin price; they go down when ever Bitcoin is going down and when Bitcoin is going up a few of them usually follows and some of them still continue to fall, but will only rise when Bitcoin is on a normal fluctuation.

So that means that whenever the price of Bitcoin is going up, altcoins investors will sell out to get the opportunity of invest in in Bitcoin, and when the price of Bitcoin is going down, they will also do the same thing cause the price of altcoins will be going down too. That’s why I’m used to Bitcoin mainly.

Bitcoin's price movement generally affects altcoin prices. Especally now increase of alts value is highly correlated with the increase of BTC.

All altcoin trade with Bitcoin or Ethereum. So I could give an example to understand the price. Now today Bitcoin price is $6500 so, chose an altcoin like Litecoin, so at the same day litecoin price is: 0.01223610 (BTC), now convert this price in USD and remember, after few days Bitcoin price is $6000 and the Litecoin price is 0.01223610 and convert this price in USD then you can see USD price is different. Although you are right that when we can see the BTC price decline then altcoin also. But it's not only the reason it's the global reason.

The price of altcoin is on the downswing trend, so the market is always a link, no coin can cross over and a big impact on Crypto. like BTC.
There are many other coins just like Altcoin which are also less valuable and affect is also there but this is looking unknown thing to all of us because sources are different but affect is same. Besides these all Bitcoin is a base currency which has control and affect over other currencies as well and this is due to the same nature of cryptocurrencies as these all are digital and have same perception for people.

Yes if you were talking about the fact of ethereum than the altcoin price would be totally dependent upon that of the theorem for the treason that a majority of the 10000 bitcoin in the market are based on the ethereum blockchain network and regulated by the erc20 smart contract

The fact is that this is the main advantage of the etherium on the crypto-currency market, What makes it above all competitors. Proceeding from this, I am quite sure that the efirium in the near future will take the leading position among all the crypto-currencies.

yes you are true altcoin price actually would not dare to be much different from bitcoin price aritinya altcoin price movement will be based on bitcoin price, if bitcoin rise then altcoin price will also rise whereas if bitcoin down then altcoin also will decrease.

naturally, the altcoin price depends on the bitcoin price because bitcoin is the price that has become the benchmark for all existing cryptocurrencies, with bitcoin price movement can also determine the condition of altcoin that will occur.

as long as bitcoin still leading the cryptocurrency market, altcoin is only followed bitcoin and will adjust the price with bitcoin price. but I don't think that there is any altcoin that can give more benefits than bitcoin because right now, we still want to make a lot of bitcoin and altcoin is exist to help us to earn more bitcoin.

I think this is true.
Whenever the bitcoin price goes down, it almost pulls the entire market down under it. So I think bitcoin has great influence on the price of the altcoin coin.

It is really not news anymore since the market generally is known to dance to the tune of the master bitcoin.

It has been like that for a very long time now and that to me, is simply because a lot of traders perceive altcoin as a way to just make some pretty good money from the market in the long run and nothing so serious at the end of it all when it comes to holding for long term, except few, which is what makes it easy for them to be used to increase their bitcoin and for the fact that we have most of them as btc pair anyway.

I think this topic is right for margin trading because when bitcoin falls, The price of altcoins is also falling so I think just following all price of altcoins in bitcoin price.

Yeah, and most times, a lot of traders these days make use of bitcoin to determine the possibility of movement of altcoins and simply use that as a means to trade the market to their advantage. Even when altcoins are so sold out, the only way they can get to pick up is when bitcoin hits a stage of uptrend from a downtrend with some pretty slow movement, in this way, altcoins usually get to move like dogs that ended up being unleashed after so many years.
Usually altcoins will find their own value only they are having any real life usage. ETH must be a good example here. Even bitcoin was falling it kept rising to touch $1200 levels regard less of what BTC was being valued.
