I am so tired of doge scam pools, new ones pop up everyday and they last for a month or two then they shut down and run away with all the funds.
lol, stop using the open source MPOS pools

It depends, the orphaned block were pretty small ones, so overall it is not THAT bad.

If you compare the luck and size of the last found blocks, it evens that out without problems:

I set one 280x card to your pool, ocminer. To see how it compares with hashfaster, which has been ok so far.

Take a look here and youll see some analyzis of some pools that might give an indication of which pool to use and which scams:

.....

well keep palming your face instead of that other thing your mama told you to quit doing!! I understand averages, you don't! If the average is 500k, of course you won't hit 500 k every block, duh!! The longterm average should still work out to coinwarz estimates longterm, duh! so no I don't buy your snakeoil either, use it for lubing your facepalmer!
do you understand what "long term average" means?

do you understand what "long term average" means?

In a process with 1 datapoint per minute, 24 hours (1440 samples) is more than sufficient to be considered a long term average.

I ran a card overnight at dogepool and it only made 300 coins at almost 700 kh. So I stopped the experiment, granted it probably needs more time. Coinwarz thinks I should be getting over 13K a day with 1400 kh and I'm getting more than that at hashfaster, today at least, with one of the two cards mining at another pool for several hours. So for now I'm a happy camper. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

On one thing I have to agree, I also found out that Pools must be skimming off the top.

The other day I compared blocks found from my miners (and coins generated) vs actual payout from the pool. I got more than 40% less payout than if I would have been mining solo. I am talking about a different coin (earthcoin), but the problem seems to be universal. Since then I switched to solo mining, and I got actually at least 3 times more coins than my hashrate's estimate.

You should also check out if you find blocks regularly on the pool you are mining. Maybe it is worth a try (with a decent hashrate) to try solo mining. (By the way I have no idea about Dogecoin and solo mining, but with earthcoins it worked.)

I was on a pool, (name withheld to not cause a flame war) and was paying a 2.5% fee. Researched solo mining, and that was not a good fit. Ran across a P2P Pool idea, where it is decentralized. You probably already know about it but I am new to this.  I followed the instructions here and created a "node": http://doges.org/index.php/topic,5586.0.html and it went smoothly except for a typo on my part which drove me crazy looking over my work. Running it under VirtualBox so I can sandbox it and test, and revert to snapshots when I mess it up!

Can't testify to Hash Rates or if it is stable, but I am mining with just myself, pointing to my payout address and getting shares in my wallet. Kind of cool to see it as "Mined" instead of "Received with" from a pool. Not sure how the performance will compare to a typical pool.

Apparently you can allow people to join your node. I haven't tested it to see if my internet connection can take it, but anyone is welcome to try. If it gets crazy I can turn it off or get a bigger pipe.  What I like about it is you can connect to someone that is close to you or create your own node (I am in Fort Worth, TX). Set it up this morning, so I will see. Running for about 3.5 hours and have 322 shares on a 3.64 Mh/s rig. Anxious to see what it does in a week.

If you want to test it, I have it set for .5% (didn't think anything higher was fair, and may lower it. I just wanted to see if it paid the fees for my test.)

The instructions create a "Front end for the node" http://doge.joinaparty.com:22550 so you can see how it looks. Kinda of different from a standard pool. Probably should create a landing page for http://doge.joinaparty.com with instructions to everything.

Pulled these connect strings that you can try and connect I use sgminer:
cgminer --scrypt -o doge.joinaparty.com:22550 -u YOURDOGEPAYOUTADDRESS -p anypassword
bfgminer --scrypt -o doge.joinaparty.com:22550 -u YOURDOGEPAYOUTADDRESS -p anypasssword

Don't count on this being a forever node to connect to, I am just testing it and if two people connect it might even bring it to it's knees! Smiley Do me a favor and connect so I can test and then go create your own node! If it works out, who knows.

Thanks!
DaZ
