You miss the fact, that Ethereum had much more devs than other 3 project. For me ETH is still the future of smart contract.

ETH definitely has the advantage that they are in the leading position for smart contracts and ICOs at the moment.
So as long as other projects don't do thing significantly better than ETH they will not overtake it.

But there are much fewer ICO now. Will that affect the adoption of ETH?

Yes, even though they will develop what they mentioned in the roadmap will not help to cross the value of ETH because ETH is already established which has more active developments from the team. Even though ripple has increase volume but it will cross the ETH position in long-term.

Nobody mentioning how solid this time ETH moving I think now it will get recover more support and in next few months we will see on more high price. If someone invested in this coin just 2 weeks ago than than he is in very safe position and I hope this will keep with this momentum.

Everything is possible. Ether shows good dynamics compared to other currencies. Capitalization approached close to Ripple. I hope in the new year he will take second place.

Why did you think like this?
Personally, I think a hybrid between PoW/ PoS/ Masternoders or Service Nodes might be a best solution for Ethereum network.
I am not technical guy, but it is my feeling and my opinion.

Without PoW is not good, BCH and ETC will more interesting. BCH very easy to scale - just increasing the block size and there is no risk of vulnerabilities at this

ether's developers abandoned the hybrid, perhaps because with proof of work, ETH scaling is impossible

I would believe that we already have bottomed out, the Ethereum 2.0 is interesting, it will bring new hope for people who until now is supporting ETH.
Trust in Vitalik and his team, we are here to seek for success and their update for me is just so timely because bear is gonna be gone very soon, next year is different, we are going to witness bull run after bull run.

Yeah definitely Ethereum will grow in near future, according to ethereum developer ethereum 2.0 test is done successfully.
Hope so in the beginning of 2019 price of eth will start growing, as you said ethereum will overtake XRP very soon.
Right now price is very low so best time to buy at this cheap price. BTW HaPPy New YeaR.

Why would ether become a threat to bitcoin? I believe they can definitely co-exist. No reason that's not possible.

 I would say many digital assets under top 15 are good.. The real usecase of many digital assets are remarkable they work flawless and are highly scalable to be a store value.. Digital assets are so new to this world that they started treating it as a stock instead of taking it as a defense this all proves and shows how early we are into crypto space the moment people get into digital world and they actually talk about coins other then bitcoin then we have somewhat achieved our goal of 20% many dont even understand how to use digital assets like bitcoin, ethereum, xrp etc .
For many digital assets are still very new it reminds of cellphones where only some used it and other thought its a waste of money to buy and those cellphones were only basic phones and now we see even a homeless person would surely have and know how to use a cellphone this time span roughly took around 20 years and we are talking about mass adoption now everyone has one phone with them.. and guess what crypto users are only in few millions out of those billions in this world unaware or unknown about the existence of such space.

Well I don't believe that there will be a ton of digital assets working as a store of value. It may be a good number though. Most will probably work as a medium of exchange in high throughput situations.

For Ethereum there will be a very positive January, most likely a very serious upward jump in prices for Ethereum. We have been waiting for this for a long time.

That is not a valid reason from my point of view it is hard predict what function will make it again more hot like before. This coin still has good demand with bigger community which growing much faster than before so that I hope this year will bring more attention and make it more valuable.

If Vitalik believes in POS as ultimate solution then let him implement and let the market and results to decide what are the consequences. General opinion is against that but let's see who knows may be this works as he thinks. That experiment will have good lessons for others to understand many things through it. If POS doesn't work it will need to be reversed vi another HF, probably.

Whales need not any reason to push the price upwards. If you look at previous rise and then decline in prices of Ethereum or any other market you can't figure out any specific reason neither for up nor for downwards move. All these are just phenomena that this will increase price or that does, in fact big players decide what and when to come those.

Weak hands sold their coins in blood market, i assure you that they will regret when market will start growing up.
Right now market is stable around $127 billion marketcap but after holidays we will see PUmp or dump.
On the other hand I don't think so ETF will approve very soon because Sec commissioner said that ETF could take days or years.

Cause the block reward after the block reward falling from 3 to 2 will cause the first spike in ETH price, than we’ll have a year of further speculations before POS implementation and future ETH price on the market

I don't care about ETF, so far this year many people think it's the way for bulls. but in reality ETFs have no clarity. I'd rather wait for POS ethereum, because it's more realistic to pump the market. I hope after this update is complete, hopefully POS will be released soon.
