All,
The Jan 15-16th helps improve performance of eth and also sets the stage from POW to POS, the future change to POS is very positive and does the following things;
With PoS there will be less of a need to sell for covering electricity/hardware costs.
Ether earned from staking will probably be added to the stake rather than sold.
As mining is expensive as mentioned above, you can’t blame miners for selling the coins they earn which causes price volatility. The reason why a PoS would give you price stability is because it gives the person more incentive to keep the coin than to sell.
Ethereum is also designed to actually be able to LOSE ETH coins after PoS. Meaning instead of the supply constantly appreciating, it could depreciate, hence driving value up even more.
Like Joseph Lublin of eth recently stated the future is bright (he also stated the bottom is in)

Nobody mentioning how solid this time ETH moving I think now it will get recover more support and in next few months we will see on more high price. If someone invested in this coin just 2 weeks ago than than he is in very safe position and I hope this will keep with this momentum.
Everything is possible. Ether shows good dynamics compared to other currencies. Capitalization approached close to Ripple. I hope in the new year he will take second place. |

I wonder how BCH guys promoting tokens creation thing on that chain with other words they are entering in competition with Ethereum. How Vitalik supported these guys for their contagious HF. Anyway there is nothing to worry Ethereum is much more than simply platform of tokes creation and this its competitors need to understand.

I do hope it that way, but for now, it is more like a platform for token creation. We can not deny that, let's be honest here. there are more than 3 projects out there that can surpass ETH transaction speed and do not forget that they are integrating smart contract too. Which means, they are more than a simple platform of token creation instead of ETH itself, that was why this hardfork means to be. to increase its capability in handling a thousand transactions per second. |

ETH definitely has the advantage that they are in the leading position for smart contracts and ICOs at the moment. So as long as other projects don't do thing significantly better than ETH they will not overtake it. |

Without PoW is not good, BCH and ETC will more interesting. BCH very easy to scale - just increasing the block size and there is no risk of vulnerabilities at this

Yes, even though they will develop what they mentioned in the roadmap will not help to cross the value of ETH because ETH is already established which has more active developments from the team. Even though ripple has increase volume but it will cross the ETH position in long-term. |

It is worthy to see how Bitcoin Cash team can do it and how the platform of Bitcoin Cash can be competitive with ETH platform. Why did you think like this? Personally, I think a hybrid between PoW/ PoS/ Masternoders or Service Nodes might be a best solution for Ethereum network. I am not technical guy, but it is my feeling and my opinion. Without PoW is not good, BCH and ETC will more interesting. BCH very easy to scale - just increasing the block size and there is no risk of vulnerabilities at this
ether's developers abandoned the hybrid, perhaps because with proof of work, ETH scaling is impossible |

I would believe that we already have bottomed out, the Ethereum 2.0 is interesting, it will bring new hope for people who until now is supporting ETH. Trust in Vitalik and his team, we are here to seek for success and their update for me is just so timely because bear is gonna be gone very soon, next year is different, we are going to witness bull run after bull run. |

Flippening between Ethereum and XRP will happen when Ethereum hit 0.04 BTC per ETH or higher. I guess the flippening will occur soon. |

Flippening between Ethereum and XRP will happen when Ethereum hit 0.04 BTC per ETH or higher. I guess the flippening will occur soon. Yeah definitely Ethereum will grow in near future, according to ethereum developer ethereum 2.0 test is done successfully. Hope so in the beginning of 2019 price of eth will start growing, as you said ethereum will overtake XRP very soon. Right now price is very low so best time to buy at this cheap price. Why would ether become a threat to bitcoin? I believe they can definitely co-exist. No reason that's not possible. I would say many digital assets under top 15 are good.. The real usecase of many digital assets are remarkable they work flawless and are highly scalable to be a store value.. Digital assets are so new to this world that they started treating it as a stock instead of taking it as a defense this all proves and shows how early we are into crypto space the moment people get into digital world and they actually talk about coins other then bitcoin then we have somewhat achieved our goal of 20% many dont even understand how to use digital assets like bitcoin, ethereum, xrp etc . For many digital assets are still very new it reminds of cellphones where only some used it and other thought its a waste of money to buy and those cellphones were only basic phones and now we see even a homeless person would surely have and know how to use a cellphone this time span roughly took around 20 years and we are talking about mass adoption now everyone has one phone with them.. and guess what crypto users are only in few millions out of those billions in this world unaware or unknown about the existence of such space. Well I don't believe that there will be a ton of digital assets working as a store of value. It may be a good number though. Most will probably work as a medium of exchange in high throughput situations. |
