Basically, if you purposely and maliciously try to double spend or attack the network, or other such things, your staked reward (once Casper is released) is penalized. It's a PoS implementation which safeguards against a lot of the shortcomings of today's PoS implementations. It helps protect the network and make it more secure than even PoW can (arguably). Bitpop is a greedy guy, he wants ETH pump so his worthless ETC will be pumping too. I think his behavior makes every ETH fan sick. |

If you have been watching Ethereum price recently, those in the know are expecting a major announcement that could put Ethereum into the mainstream in a big way this week. Ethereum is coming off a very impressive 2016, its first full year on the market, where its market cap surpassed $1 billion USD and Ethereum price passed $20 at one point. The first half of 2016 saw nothing but ETH price hype and acceleration, and 2017 is shaping up the same way. Ethereum’s ETH value has grown from under $8 USD to over $14.50 on Sunday, a climb of over 81%, in less than two months. Just in the last week, the price has jumped over $3 USD; ETH rose 7% on a Sunday. By percentage, this rate of growth outpaces Bitcoin’s value gains in 2017. What’s causing all of this drama? There is a press conference scheduled for Tuesday morning in downtown Brooklyn, New York where the new Enterprise Ethereum Alliance will be officially announced. When proof of stake comes in... inflation is going to be reduce to as low as under 1% per year. As more users fuel in Ethereum's Platform by paying Gas... some percentage of those GAS, which is paid using Ethers are going to be burned. Thus ether's total supply could get lesser. So far I don't understand how a real enterprise can work on Ethereum, really. I saw a lot of promotional videos explaining what DAO is and how good the future will be, but I when it comes down to real world I don't get the idea how a real enterprise (even a small one) can benefit from Ethereum, and stay secure, reliable, flexible and pay low cost for the financial services. And why smart contracts are better than what we currently have (centralized financial services, for example).

There are already a few projects based on the Ethereum. Banco Santander has worked on Ethereum. |
