To be fair though, it's not common to make much profit, if profit is even achieved, using cloud mining...especially at today's prices.

Yes, POS nodes will replace miners validating blocks. I believe the nodes will do mostly validation/consensus and the heavy computational work will move to off-chain resources.

Well when another hard fork happens it will go down again. But since continuous projects are based in Eth it will increase again but never as high as bitcoin.
