crazyyyy $, cool to see.  eth is still a huge overvalued turd though LOL

When it is $100, what do you say?
that it will only happen when btc is dead. Btc will always be n1 marketcap. Ehthereum isnt a currency or a store of value. Its a token. Nothing more. Ethereum project seems to be a great platform but i dont know why it should have a token. Also beware that ethereum is now heavily pumped because of bitcoin's fork fud and microsoft hype. Buying ether now is a risky investment. Microsoft backed so many companies and not many are left to tell the tale. Make no mistake. Ethereum is centralized and that means that buterin can do anything he like to do. Do you trust your whole investment in the hands of 1 stranger? I should think twice at least. Ethereum is currently on a HUGE pump. We all know what happens with those pumps. See you back at 20$. Stick with bitcoin guys, bitcoin is more likely to go up from the bottom than ethereum pumping till it bursts.

That's why I have decided to hold both a year ago. Fuck it, let bitcoin tears itself apart over the power and politics. I am tired of all of this block size drama, very tired.

My only concern is a total supply of Ethereum. If it gets capped at around 100 million as devs are giving signals it will happen, I think that Ethereum can be everything. A smart contracts platform, a store of value, currency, etc.

I repeat. Tired of all the drama in BTC world, to that point that I don't even care anymore will I lose half of my initial investment (I have invested half of my money into Eth, half into BTC).

I downloaded the normal eth wallet for Windows. I am trying to sync a node. It is very slow at a few hundred blocks per day. Is there a way to sync the node quicker and bring it up to date?

it's better to using myetherwallet
no need to sync a node and simple to use it. https://www.myetherwallet.com

Make sure your date & time is EXACT......if not it messes with the wallet & sometimes the miner  Roll Eyes

Just pick another one & let it set itself  Wink

Oh & DO NOT use online wallets, they have a habit of closing unexpectedly & you lose all your coins!!!!

Thanks. I tried setting the time using a different time server, but the wallet still syncs only a few blocks in an hour. I dont like the main eth wallet and it will take a year at this pace to sync.

Is it possible to get the private key out of the wallet and import it in a wallet that does not have to sync first?

I am going to try another PC to see if it syncs better.

You need to save your keystrore file anyhow,it IS your wallet......in windows you need show hidden folders checked......then got to:

C:\Users\yourpcname\AppData\Roaming\Ethereum  save the keystore file on a flashdrive & a few other devices,IT IS YOUR WALLET.
If your HDD dies or PC gets a virus & you have to reinstall windows, you can recover your wallet easily by pasteing this in the same location after you reinstall your new wallet.

$100 in two weeks or less.

I can say it is highly possible now that the price breaks through $50 level.

If bitcoin unlimited scam wins I am selling all my BTCU and buying Ethereum.  Then ethereum price will equal BTC hopefully.  Ethereum needs to be #1 market cap.

Ditto. Fuck Roger Ver

IMO, BU is the better way forward.  That said: if there is a split, I'll also be dumping all that BTCU for Eth Cheesy  Cool

Those were almost the exact same words I said to myself when I hesitated to buy ETH when it hit $25 . I was very happy when the price continue upward trend and never back down.

@bitpop

Do you agree with ETC going 100% POS if ETH takes that route, or is remaining POW or a POS/POW hybrid solution on the table at all?

Ethereum is on very amazing track getting more stable and going to become the top on the market cap. Again got $50 after little correction so it is really strong at the moment while BTC is crashing.

Afaik I know etc will stay pow and I don't support pos, pos is a ponzi

Where is the difference of taking 1000 bucks buying ETH/ETC for POS or taking the same bucks buying hardware for PoW. Both "Ponzi"
You gain in both cases... just buying hardware is wasting energy and resources so that you have less in the end.

Pos creates oligarchs that need constant new investors just like a ponzi, hardware gets obsolete

With equal investors:
- If POS does not create new tokens (like NXT), price and market cap stays the same.
- If POS does create new tokens (by %) the market cap will stay the same and the price goes down by the very %.
Thats called inflation and used to be the same with fiat. You put it on a bank, which gives you about 2% interest, while the inflation was 2%, so you were safe, if you put it on the bank. You just lost, if you didn't put it on the bank but left it below your pillow.

If new investors come into that system, its raising like it does with PoW. There is no difference.
Just with PoW you need constant investment, to keep your savings or buy hardware. Because your percentage of the cake shrinks...
