I recently heard someone scam over the phone to do Btc business, and it looked at him in this thread Grin. if I have personally experienced through social chatter, someone who invites me to invest in BTC and I already know their intentions and goals invite me to cheat me in this way, I think this form of fraud is very long used.

I have seen cheaters; calling the customers of Banks telling them that your ATM card will get blocked and you will not be able to use it anymore.  The customer if discloses the numbers written on the card and password then definitely his account balance is looted in minutes

I have found that in recent time btc phone scam has been increased a lot. Scams call people and pursue people to pay taxes and bills by btc or any altercoins. Even some asks to invest in fake coin also. Mainly the scam group target people over phone.

Has it been happened with anyone??

To my way of thinking, I heard recently about that, the scammers will encourage you to invest with them and they will bring you to their flowery words that once you invest it this will be the amount back to you and so on. That's why sometimes its really hard to trust someone in bitcoin because you did not know if they are really trust worthy orthey are only a scammers who will only used you and your money. so be careful to put your money in investment especially if you did not know that person or that project so better to research it first before  enter in that kind of business.

Generally, when transacting to somebody, you got to be skeptic due to the fact  that anything now can happen online, digital. So if one must pay, he should ask himsel, if he has ask for this mode of payment to the official biller, if not, why entertain such?

We have never heard of and experienced phone fraud, but it is not surprising that our fraudsters are there, they really found a way, we have to be extra careful about phone fraud, etc. That's the only thing we can do. and I hope it will not happen to anyone else.. Smiley

No one called me yet with this nonsense, but I think I would just hang up the phone, if it happened. Crazy how inventive scammers are, what if the used their skills for something good…  Sad

Hmmm, never seen this kind of scam before in crypto so maybe scammers are really one step ahead and their brilliant minds at it again. Lol. Well there's some famous scam out here wherein, you will received a text message saying that you won this big amount. But before you can claim the price you need to send some funds. So maybe they just put a twist on it, so this time they are asking for bitcoin or any other crypto in return.

So at least we have a headway and thanks for sharing this odd scam so I guess we need to be very careful and attentive and not fall for this kind of trap.

I have never experienced this kind of act. Though some people lure their family and friends to invest in scam coins that later run away with their money, but this has stopped after the closure of bitconnect and its likes, people are now wiser and careful of investing in an unreal project. But I haven't experienced Btc phone scam and not happening in this region.

This is gutting. I believe people who would fall for the tax scams are those living in countries where tax payment via btc is allowed.

It is normally happened even in online games and etc. online networking related how much more in this bitcoin some people want to be more insufficient with others that's way day keep on searching how to make or do make scam so we bitcoiner much more watchful with others.

I never heard these kind of schemes but this way of scamming is too obvious. People who fall for this traps are just plain foolish. Well, if you have received phone calls from an anonymous person, the first impression will always be doubt. At this moment, you will begin to identify whether he is telling the truth or not. If you haven't joined something like a campaign of you havent invested on something, then there is no reason for someone who will call you like that.

It is so alarming that scammers are using btc to scam others so we need to be careful in entertaining telephone calls specially those unknown and money related offers.
