The OP was back in May.
It's kind of funny when you think that we were all panicking back then that the market was crashing.

Then btc crashed all the way down to 3.5k lol.
There were quite a few people who were predicting that after this past bull run, btc will drop down to 2.5k.
Now it seems realistic even with our recent pump.

It wasn't just last dec/jan, but the entire 2017 year was a huge bull run.
The end of the year madness just made things worse.
After such a spectacular rise it is only natural for things to crash and stay low for a long period of time.
So no end of the year crypto christmas for us haha.

Yes, it is bad for altcoins when the value of BTC is dropping as all cryptocurrencies are tied to the price of Bitcoin. If Bitcoin fall, all coins are going to fall. And you surely had the time to see the effects of it.
now the proof, we can clearly see that Altcoin is very dependent on Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a coin that plays the biggest role in crypto so that its value will greatly affect the value of Altcoin. especially if it's a downturn, Altcoin is very quickly affected, but if Bitcoin goes up, Altcoin will only slowly follow it.

For me is not bad for Altcoin when Bitcoin is dropping because every time it happen some people hold their Bitcoin, while others try Altcoin to buy or invest. While sometimes when Bitcoin dropping, Altcoin is also dropping its  become affected but even its happen many people are still believe to it because some of them are really worth it to have especially those top listed crypto.

Bitcoin price is constantly dropping for the last several days. What effects are putting it on Altcoins ? Is it bad or good ?

in my opinion the effect on the altcoin is bad if the price of Bitcoin continues to fall, because if the price of Bitcoin down then the price of Altcoin will also come down, because Altcoin prices are still influenced by the price of Bitcoin, so if the price of Bitcoin rises then the price of Altcoin will rise and if the price of Bitcoin falls then the price of Altcoin will also come down, therefore why many people expect the price of Bitcoin can increase again.

With a present situation at the crypto market a bitcoin rate influences negatively on altcoins as they are interconnected. Bitcoin influences the overall tendency at the crypto market. If trust reduced to bitcoin - the altcoins will not be in a favor too and their popularity will drop consequently as well.

Taking into account that BTC dominance on the market is more than 50%, it is bad for all market when BTC is dropping Smiley. Altcoins will drop along with BTC just because of the panic.
Probably in the future the situation will change, but for now we have what we have )

I don't think Bitcoin reduces the impact on the altcoin, because the price and holder of Bitcoin is still the highest of all cryptocurrencies!

A drop in the BTC price almost always affects the fall in the price of altcoins on the market in terms of value to a greater or lesser extent. This effect does not affect the coins that have not yet entered the large stock exchanges. Tokens grow on the basis of real supply and demand.

On the one hand, many people say that Bitcoin should pack the market, on the other hand, we see that when Bitcoin falls, trust in the market goes up. Bitcoin has a big impact on the market and any drops in it lead to a market kalaps. I think that the market is not ready to give up bitcoin now. Altcoins are not ready to become completely independent.

The price of everything depends on the bitcoin price so it is bad for altcoins of course when btc is dropping. Market must be change and must not affect from bitcoin much like this, maybe we see this in the future.

The fall in the price of Bitcoin adversely affects the entire market. Especially now, when the market is in deep correction. The price of altcoins is directly dependent on the price of bitcoin, so you should always take this into account.

The depreciation of the altcoin currency will be higher than that of the bitcoin. The decline of the bitcoin is a purification of the cryptocurrency market, which can make bad projects not grow well in the future. I think this is beneficial to the cryptocurrency market.

the downturn in altcoin may be lowered by bitcoin would be more beneficial to him because more investors are here and the greater the likelihood that the bitcoin price will not increase because of altcoin investors are people.

All coins of course react very strongly when bitcoin falls , as we see now , if bitcoin begins to fall by -15% then altcoins immediately go to -30% , altcoins are very dependent on bitcoin!

the market situation for bitcoin is  all not good at, and once people saw bitcoin fall down then they will also sell their altcoins,  so the falling of bitcoin definitely impact the alt coin price in negative way

Not. For those of us who are unfamiliar with cryptocurrency, this is a problem when crypto prices fall. But for those who have experience in crypto they will be happy, because they can invest as much as possible.

Bitcoin is a coin that is sensitive to everything around it that concerns him. If you already have bitcoin, you should not sell it at a low price just to buy an altcoin. To get bitcoin is not easy, if you want to get an altcoin, you can take ICO or airdrops. That way, you will actually get results from several different sources.
