The Forever Game
It shall return... tonight at precisely 11pm Official Server Time. Last one got 46 deposits I think, hope we can get to 50 this time (never know). There seems to be a decent bit of interest so hope this is the spark that BitPonzi needs to get a few more players. And now the Daily Massives have gone, it should have the biggest jackpot (which I'm going to win this time Wink). So tell your friends to come to BitPonzi, not just for the forever game but for all the other nice rounds too Smiley. As promised previously, there will be prizes for those unlucky souls who are second last and first unpaid. Only seems fair. Good luck peoples.

Ok, so how does the jackpot work?  The site says
Quote
The jackpot will be paid to the depositor burden.
so does that mean that it just gets used to payoff all those that haven't been paid?  I had thought that the last depositor wins the jackpot - is that not so?

Not sure where on the site it says that? On the rules it says "The jackpot will be paid to the last depositor." So basically you are correct Smiley. Only that one deposit gets the entire jackpot.

Broken again.  I wonder how many deposits might have been made to the Forever_Game_2 that didn't get through.  This time my brain didn't wake me up at 2300 (server time) and let me sleep through the night untill 0500 (local time).

BitPonzi is being DDOSed Sad I've closed the port for incoming connections to bitcoind and restarted it. Everything should be back to normal.

If whoevers doing it is reading.. why even bother? The site isn't exactly very active lately.

Mini_Ponzi_2 is up!
http://old.bitponzi.net/Round_Mini_Ponzi_2.aspx

same deal as before, every time my deposit gets paid I reinvest the max (1btc in this case)

the original Mini_Ponzi worked out fairly well, but I've adjusted this one to 15/15 so more people get paid out, and I'm offering a bonus jackpot of 0.1btc each to the unfortunate 2 which will grow if the round becomes successful (or if anyone wants to donate to the bonus jackpot 15eedGvRYp9GmcXxmjbmm9BpTH4BvPP98S post here or pm so I know that its for the bonus)

if this round is successful expect to see bigger ones in the future  Cool

well Mini_Ponzi_2 was pretty disappointing  Sad I don't even get to pay out the bonus jackpot cuz I was the only loser haha

would there be more interest in this style round if the min/max deposits were higher? I was thinking a 1/10 round would be interesting, but my wallet is hurting after some unwise investments so a .5/5 round is probably what would happen next.

[Deleted link to another site.]

Why don't you advertize your games in their threads?  Are you so decided to kill the Bitponzi site?  mb300sd is really a nice guy and after all damage you did to his site do you also have to try to take his players away?

What's wrong with some healthy competition? Smiley
My site has better features.
Taking players away is what the free market tends to do.

I agree with ama, advertising in this thread is a sleazy tactic

I also find it interesting that bitponzi got DDoSed right around the time your site went public...

Yeah, the DDoS thing was VERY unfortunately timed.  You can ask mb300sd to verify that my IP was not involved in that in any way.

We are again under some kind of attack. Someone seems to have gotten the real IP of the server thats supposed to be hidden by cloud flare. I'm trying to log into the remote access but its going at a crawl.

mb300sd, please do a full investigation... I don't want my name to be tarnished because the attack COULD be mine.  Please ensure that it is not Smiley

Had to go in with telnet and kill bitcoind and delete debug.log which was taking up the entire hard drive, so unfortunately there are no logs. I'm trying to find a workaround for not having many connections on bitcoind causing slower deposits, without opening the port, but I can't find any way to make it create more than 8 outgoing connections.

Edit:
For now I've added an addnode to bitcoin.conf that points to bitcoind running on my other server with open ports. It should speed things up, and if they somehow discover the ip of that server and attack it, it shouldn't take down the site.

I setup a fixed game with a bounty and a high jackpot, sort of like a last bid lottery

Reverse Ponz

Made it so there was no incentive for me to join in later with a 2% extra fee, the 1% ROI ensured that enough people joined in later on the older shares would be payed for. Made a bounty address and put 0.1BTC into it to get it started. 4% fee, 1% ROI 45% Jackpot it made 50% of each entrant go towards the pot for the previous player to ensure quick return.

Net loss of 0.1448BTC (submitted total of .4*.2 on start, .1 jackpot bounty, and .1 a little later*, got back 0.202 and 0.055). Worked kind of like a lottery/race towards the end and someone made out with the 0.5BTC jackpot.

Planning on doing one tomorrow with the same rules, probably just limiting the bids to only 0.1 if I can. Was thinking what I could do if I could get negative ROI, but then that just turns into a whole other game. Was interesting to see what transpired during the day.

Any opinions on how it went? Should I do it for longer just to make sure people know it's there? Larger amounts?

With the fixed rounds theres really no incentive to get in until the end, so a little longer might be a good idea so everyone knows its there. Timing the end for when the most people are online is a good idea too.

Time to get some more advertising out there.

.1 BTC to anyone who puts BitPonzi in their sig. Minimum 1 week.

Do it for yourself! The more people that visit the site, the more likely your rounds get played.

Making this into a competition - the person who sends the most referrers to bitponzi gets 1 BTC! In addition to the .1 BTC to put it there.

use this code in your sig:

Code:

[URL=http://bitponzi.net?ref=SIG_<YOUR USERNAME OR BITCOIN ADDRESS HERE>][img]http://goo.gl/0wVHT[/img][/URL]

Mine would be:

[URL=http://bitponzi.net?ref=SIG_mb300sd][img]http://goo.gl/0wVHT[/img][/URL]

or

[URL=http://bitponzi.net?ref=SIG_1Q7zMiGjNe8sSMeEJKHfjt2tNdteRwhx2a][img]http://goo.gl/0wVHT[/img][/URL]

Edit: Just to clarify, this is for UNIQUE REFS. Otherwise we'd just have everyone click their own links...
