Surely he has a pretty good reason not to believe in bitcoin and not to see the prospects of its use. But it is not under all to think as there are many positive opinions about bitcoin from no less influential personalities.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Bill gates also admitted that Bitcoin is better than currency  here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwHKGa96S9M

Yes, I know. I always suspected that Bill Gates was among those men, who were the first ones to invest in Bitcoin. This is a very intelligent person, and he could not miss this chance.

I think a billionaire like Bill Gates doesn't need to take the risk of the volatile market.

He was just fudding to bring the price down, his strategy worked so now he can invest his billions and double his fortune. Same as warren buffet who he probably colluded with

First of all, is the source confirmed? Are we sure? At this point, with so much FUD and fake news around, the only way to be sure on what oncle Bill thinks would be to speak to him...
Than, we shouldn't believe on everything we hear.... oncle Bill has a large stake on ETH (or supposedly he has or had)... so it is only natural that BTC is not so good, and besides, do we know that he is not fudding in order to accumulate???

Because he has his own interests, which we can only guess. Bitcoin is a very big thing. This is just a division of spheres of influence.

I recently read through the comments made by Bill Gate on bitcoin and other related cryptocurrencies (https://www.google.com.gh/amp/s/www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/microsoft-founder-bill-gates-would-bet-against-bitcoin/). From the comments he made, it is obvious that, Bill Gate is against investing into cryptocurrency. Critically appraising and analyzing how helpful bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are and base on the comments Bill Gate made, I don't see the reason why he is against cryptocurrency. Probably he might be having his own reasons of which I am not aware of. Can someone help as to why Bill Gate spoke against bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies?

Bill gates is one of the riches person in the entire world, if He said something about negative things in bitcoin in terms of investing on it.
I don't think that He is telling the truth, why? remember that He is a business man, who knows that this might be His way to dump the price value of Bitcoin, He might using His influence to convince people to follow His thoughts then in the end when it happen that Bitcoin dump its value He will take the opportunity to a huge of bitcoin and then Hold.
