I am getting 500Mh/s with my 5850 +5970

I haven't made a config file just set the intensity to 6, is it possible to get a higher hash or is that about right?

I'm loving mining this!  My rigs are super cool and quiet thanks to the much lower intensities I can mine at.  I can even use my main PC while I'm mining again.  Hopefully this coin has legs, even if it gets back in line with Scrypt coins in profitability, I definitely see myself sticking around here.

And how is your profit compared to mining other coins?

Botnets are illegal. They are a group of hundreds or thousands of computers infected with a virus which is mining with the users computer coordinated by the botnet owner(hacker)

Ah thanks, I got it. So there's just this option or to buy like 100x r9 290x GPUs to get such hashrate right? Nothing else? Cheesy

Hi Everyone

Just a bump for the HashFaster pool, come join us, we are one of the larger pools, solving blocks every few minutes or less!!

https://max.hashfaster.com  1% fee, Prop payouts, DDoS protection, excellent and crypto-devoted admin (me!)

HISTORY OF POOLS
Just to share a bit of information not many miners are aware of, but when this coin was first launched, the original "offical" pools were sharing the ONLY working stratum server code (so a coin made by developers, stratum forked to work for the coin, by the developers) which was not shared publicly, infact you were solicited to pay "early access fee" if asked for it (~2BTC).

Taking the issue into the hands of the community, HashFaster put up a 1.1337 BTC bounty to have a public developer develop and release stratum so other non-"official" pools could open (remember, most of the pools were actually exclusively ran by the coin developers).

The bounty was granted on Saturday morning, the github fork of maxcoin stratum was released on our behalf, and we, and other good pools opened immediately, supporting a fair-mining pool scene.

HashFaster has a proven track record in running reliable, fair pools, all of our pools are listed @ http://hashfaster.com

I hope I never have to go through with that again, and I hope any future "new algo" coins that are released are released with working Stratum code for pool operators to use to support said coin.

Thanks!!
ZC

with R290 doing something like 600MHZ

they would only need 60 rigs with 4 cards each...

that's not something one could do in ones house but definitely could be done by a small company with a warehouse and access to cooling, cheap electricity and a spare $150,000 - $200,000

or as others have stated.. hackers with access to a botnet.. probably the same ones who are ddossing.. DDOS your competitors and mine at the same time... CHACHING.

there is also the possibility that a Sha-3 FPGAs have already been created in anticipation that new coins would use it. this isn't as far from reality as you might think considering that Sha-3 has been implemented in some coins for quite some time now.
