In case Maxcoin goes belly up (hopefully not), are there any other coins that use Keccak algo?  I really don't want to go back to Scrypt.

Agree, I've 455MH/s on my two r9 290, can squeeze some more mh/s but then it'll be unstable.

Now Max Kaiser is claiming that Scottland might adopt Max Coin.... things are getting out of hand and I think this coin has gone to his head. He might end up getting his ass hauled into the authorities for trying to manipulate price of Maxcoin.

its one thing to make off-the-cuff comments and endless tweet rants when what you say has no effect on the market.. its another thing completely when it does have a direct effect.

It might end up badly for Max if he isn't careful.. but ironically his coin may live on...

he could end up being the Che Geuvara of Crypto's,,, lol

I've been speaking about this from the start, i've abandoned this coin due to Max keiser's behavior in regards to maxcoin specifically.

I couldn't care less either way about Max Kaiser so far as this coin goes, he didn't create it, he just put his name to it.  I like the idea of a coin which currently can't be ASIC mined and that so far as I know there's no ASICs under development for yet.  I like his show but so far as I'm concerned he doesn't really have much to do with this coin.  Doge is doing well and that's just a Litecoin clone with a picture of a dog on it, at least this one's different from a technical perspective.

This account has recently been hacked and taken over, I haven't posted anything for about two years.  Whoever has been using it and pretending to be me is a scammer.

is Cuda mining even profitable currently? seems like Cuda on Nvidia is getting about 10% or so of what cgminer is getting on AMD cards.

I know that if I was getting 10% of my current hash I would probably be losing money.

You may find this post from another forum informative:

Quote
Benchmark-wise, Nvidia and AMD cards are seemingly performing at the same level, but Nvidia cards are easier to find / cheaper. The 770 TIs we picked up were $380/ea and came with Assassin's Creed IV included for free like the old AMD cards were before the mining heyday. Total driveaway cost is about $350, and the cards are alleged to get around 300-400 KHs on Vert from what benchmarks I see.

am i doing this right? i just cant find any info on these cards to compare for keccak. do i need to push the memclock to gain more hashingpower? (of course, i could start trying some values but its always HARD work to get things running smooth with 3 different types of cards. so plz help  Wink thx)

WRONG
Dom't go to fast cowboy.
Web show you WUE stat... which is far away lower than that you see in cgminer.
Look at your WUE or even WU its 4x smaler than 1,8 Mhs Tongue.
So you get 1/4 overall. Same with is with vertcoin.
You are paid more or less for WU not for stright khs from Cgminer.
59,04 x 0.0016 (bter) x 650 (btc-e) = 61 dollar per day. / diivide that by 4 ! Tongue
and you get 15 daily .

Anyone get the QT wallet going on debian wheezy ?

Follow the instructions I posted earlier and it will run.

If you are incapable of untar'ring and symlinking, I *could* make a completely statically-linked version of maxcoin-qt, which would run no matter what versions of its library dependencies your particular Linux distro carries.  But that would take a day or two or three, because I'd have to static-compile all its dependencies first--including boost which is a *big* mutha.  I'd have to be paid.

Maybe someone who has more time on his hands than I do, will take the hint.

The devs should have supplied static-linked Linux versions of maxcoind and maxcoin-qt right from the start.

That they did not, proves either their abysmal incompetence as Linux developers, or else they intended all along to rape it with GPU-miners while the rest of us were thrashing about to get it going.  Got to be one or the other.

Cool Thanks Smiley

I will look that up when I sort my install out.

What hashrate are people getting with their GPU ?

I got an HD 5870 at 200Kh - less than half of it's scrypt speed - is that normal for sha3 ?
