It is no more a subject of argument on bitcoin being an asset not a currency. It has struggled with the sharp volatility in price and slow transaction. Even with recent development on the technology their is still no significant change in the system. More it is restricted by internet, not accessible as expected but it a reliable store of value better than gold itself.

Haha, why we have to argue about this subject when everything is so clear that Bitcoin is a currency but later it becomes an asset like golds , real estate or stocks.
It's so obviously that Bitcoin's price is changing from up to down , it has enough requirements to become a real asset.

I think Bitcoin is like property because people buy Bitcoin to hoard it as a kind of asset, like a way to save their money. Bitcoin is not considered as currency because it less used in payments and most people do not use it for cashout.

I believe bitcoin is both currency and asset. Due to transaction delays from network congestion by the end of 2017, it is increasingly considered to be digital gold due to its scarcity. Once the Lightning network get deployed, we will see it being used as a currency and store value.

Well, bitcoin has a lot of functions, one of which becomes an asset, and the other becomes a tool of transaction, or investment tool. so many functions and advantages of bitcoin so many people need it.

I read about this news that in south korea bitcoin is legally become recognizeable as asset. I do think bitcoin is a currency and not an asset. I dont know whether this is good news or not for cryptocurrency. One thing i believe with legalization from goverment i do think more investors will come to invest in bitcoin, but i think if bitcoin become an asset its not as it suppose to because i believe bitcoin should be a currency which is currency is for transaction and asset is not for transaction.

some people treating bitcoin as an asset because they can store some money into bitcoin   if they have excess of cash or to make some profit with their money so they choice it buying bitcoin and selling it high  same like gold example.  people started treating bitcoin as like gold for example.  if person need emergency the cash  people can pawn gold to any store and get cash same way. bitcoin we can sell for cash .   its my opinion .

I think bitcoin is both an asset and a means of payment. However, at present, I think Bitcoin is more fortunate because bitcoin is traded mainly on trading floors, mainly for speculative purposes, which have not been used in the real life. On the other hand, the price fluctuation of bitcoin is also very difficult to use as a means of payment. I think in the future bitcoin will overcome this problem and will be a popular means of payment.

I think bitcoin is an asset because you can sell your bitcoin and convert it into USD whenever you like. And bitcoin is your Asset bitcoin is more liquid than something like a home, and since its creation has a tendency to increase its value, so check it out.

Clearly, from the popularity of Bitcoin, although limited uses still have quite a bit of value to a nontrivial number of people. I have no objection to the use of Bitcoin However, people should stop expecting it to become a currency that ordinary people use for ordinary transactions. It is destined to stay in its niche as a way to hide things or speculate. A currency, Bitcoin is not, nor shall it be.

Making bitcoin as an asset is fine for me. As long many peoples use bitcoin and cryptocurrency, why not ?
I think this is happened because bitcoin more suitable to become asset than currency. The price of bitcoin is expensive, maybe that's why.

I think that it would be appropriate to consider bitcoin the currency and asset, which will provide the opportunity to maintain and increase their respective owners. As it seems to me now people do not realize that the price of bitcoin can grow to 1000 000 per coin, it is nothing but a jewel of the 21st century.

I agree and bitcoin became an asset because the value in the market is continue to grow and it become profit in the future nor bitcoin is also  currency to be used for our transactions through onlines.
