Did someone just say fuck you to a school girl?

Well, yes, but it's her fault, really.  She was asking for it.  Practically begging for it.  Can't fault a guy under the circumstances.

Sorry, I know I'm going to hell, but it was too easy.  Smiley

More seriously, she's 17, not 7.  She's old enough to own her opinions and the blowback they will generate.

Fair enough, I reckon. I felt it odd it the time. Carry on, folks.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Well, to be fair, she is a HOMEschool girl, so it's not like she has much of a chance to learn anything other than what her parents feed her. Heck, she's still getting grounded at 17.

She's also still around and reading, though it seems no longer posting. I wonder if her parents took away her keyboard? (Mine used to do that. Typing with a mouse and on screen keyboard sucked.)

Seems like it from her "parent" posting about the nature of the board.
I'm actualy glad she's going through a home school program; the public school system sucks.
Escpecially the California school system.

N/M, reading now...

Holy Shit, did she try to commit suicide?! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=41901.msg509961#msg509961

Personally, I think home schooling is a terrible idea, because it's essentially a parent saying to their kid, "you're only going to be as good as I am." I can see homeschooling be "OK" for the first few grades (though you'll be limiting your kid's social education and can make them somewhat awkward), but regardless of the educational materials used, I just can't see a parent, short of having multiple degrees in multiple subjects, as being comparable to teachers who actually studied and specialized in those subjects...

I was a total social retard. I think I had, like, one friend the entire time I was there. I'm still defending high school.

True, but you don't have the social awkwardness and bullyness the school system provies. When I was down in central Florida for my jr year, all the high schools down ther have on-duty police officers for crowd control.

I was part of the quiet bunch myself. I did my academics and didn't talk to anyone else.. that was until I found the internet lol.

Yeah, I had lots of those internet friends, too. I did have a bunch of somewhat local friends. Its the high school where I only had one.

All of these things have surprised you so far? Oh, wait, sarcasm?
Hmmm... something that won't surprise you... How about that I was an almost straight A student most of my school life, skipped 7th grade completely, and yet graduated high school with a mid 2.something GPA?

SA is the type of forum that I would have fun on. But I'm not using the internet to have fun, though I do it here sometimes. This is the only forum I participate in. I do so for the love of Bitcoin (not the fun part, but the participation aspect). I've learned a hell of a lot from this forum, over and above beyond Bitcoin related.
