There are many reason behind it but we will discuss only few major reasons.First of all we know that bitcoin is digital currency and that's why many of old generation people haven't believe on it and theerfore they are afraid to invest in btc.the other big reason is the price fluctuations of btc is very high so all people think that it's investment is risky.And in some of country bitcoin is vanned therfore people are afraid to invest in cryptomarket.

So they think twice to enter to invest, they afraid that their money will not back or will not earn a profit. Well, that's easily understandable, I think. It's really risky and also good knowledge of technologies and computer are needed as well.

For those kind of people they do always look at on the profiting side which they do always fail to look up on the risk factor. Commonly people do see for those traders or investors who do earn bigtime without knowing on what are the things they had faced along the way. I think it maybe has something to with its great instability and the market is influenced by many factors which is not that easy to master the trends and determine when to buy and sell. And the other factor is security related, as you can see a lot of money has been stolen or lost as a result of the improper handling of the private keys. As cryptocurrency to a large extent is still relatively new to a large number of people, they may don't know how to keep their assets in a secure way! And the other thing is it is a 24-hour trading market with no limited to ups and downs, so people may end up losing all their money waking up in the morning!

My opinion is that people are afraid because first of all it is a high risk investment because of the volatility of the market. Besides that there are some thresholds like:
- The high level of tech which is hard to comprehend for some people.
- The trouble it costs to invest in crypto/the low liquidity. Create your own wallet, buying at exchanges or websites, send through to other exchanges etc. etc.
- Crypto doesn't feel safe enough yet. This might also be because of the lack of knowledge or well known addressess offering these investments yet.

It is the fear of first attempt without any experience and lack of knowledge, this result in fear and people are afraid in their first attempt. They should make their knowledge perfect so as to handle everything in the market of cryptocurrencies. We have examples in front as many ordinary people after crypto world are now millionaire and billionaire and this is due to their best handling.

Yes, there are a lot of people who are afraid of electronic money, though they are keen to invest in them, but fear that they will lose money when the price fluctuates and they are afraid of the hackers stalking their accounts.

we must know that bitcoin has a fluctuating price, sometimes it rises very high and sometimes it drops very low, it is normal and has become characteristic of the crypto currency, and many people are not prepared for that risk so they are afraid to invest

One the major factors affecting investment in cryptocurrencies is VOLATILITY in value. The price fluctuation is a serious issue in cryptocurrency. For example,  the price of Bitcoin fell from $20000 sometime in 2017 to about $6040 as at 22nd June,  2018. Though, the cryptocurrency, Tether , strives to maintain its value as the currency is designed.  Tether is not designed to increase or decrease in value like Bitcoin,  this makes the cryptocurrency coin not viable for investment gains.  High fluctuation in value is a big factor. Another  important factor affecting investment in cryptocurrency is Government of some countries.  Some Government policies are not quite favourable for cryptocurrency growth.  These policies does affect investment opportunities available in cryptocurrency. Another factor is the computer skill requirements. Some people are not computer skilled for them to invest in cryptocurrency. They will prefer to handle the finance transaction themselves, but since they do not posses such knowledge themselves,  They may prefer no to invest at all.

The above factors and many more are factors affecting investment in cryptocurrencies.
