I've been following this coin since launch. I mined a bit during launch as well but I think this coin has serious potential to, if pulled off, be a great social experiment unlike anything any other coin has done to date. I'm very interested in contributing to this coin's community.
My question is, would anyone be interested in a public and stable p2pool node for this coin? In order for me to add this to my server, I would need some pretty good interest from the community and some loyal p2pool node hashers. Please let me know and based on feedback I might add it.
Great to see ye interested on AUR squiggie! Appreciate your p2pools, nice and stable If you do decide to set one up, I'll throw Mh or two there

there are not enough p2pools in my mind, i hate registering to new pools everytime a coin comes out
There are a couple p2pool nodes out already, but there is only around 300KH/s on them. So what I'm trying to figure out is if there is enough adoption to p2pools for this coin to make it worth the server space? Are you saying that you would go to a stable p2pool if you could? I can't see a p2p pool working for this coin TBH. With 10 min block times and huge network hash rate it would be really hard to get enough committed hash rate to stay alive. I love the idea of them but in practice they always seem to die slow deaths (and owing me shares) Yes, that's exactly why I'm curious to how much interest there would be in a p2pool. You would need a large hash in order to find blocks otherwise people will just get frustrated and leave.

with current difficulty - 312 you would get around 3 AUR

I've had 22Mh/s at this pool for the past week. Absolutely no problems and very good support! I gladly pay my 0,5% fee and voluntarily donate 1% just to say thanks to the very stable and good work these guys do!

Probably due to multipools putting AUR on their shortlists. Now that it's on exchanges it has a profitability value. At the current time it has taken 2 hours to find the last 4 blocks, probably because the multipools have gone elsewhere once it's no longer immediately profitable. So loyal miners are left holding the bag. Then when difficulty drops significantly because of the excessive block times, the multipools will return, and the cycle repeats. Pretty much the same thing is going to happen with any coin that doesn't have a per block retarget. Even 8 is too long.

Aurora need kimoto gravity well +1 +1 +1 this can't be changed easily now. Are there any other possible defenses? How likely is the attack to happen and kill the coin?

You hard fork with KGW implementing at a future block, make sure all the pools update, and release the new wallets. I've gone through it with a variety of coins, the last being Darkcoin.
