No i mean usually... apart from me, you, and another 2-3 people tops we only get the random troll passing by droppin a "scam" comment.

With the smashing success of AUR and the potential of the coin, this thread should be packed!

Weird.

CryptoCulture.Net

We were here when AuroraCoin first started and we are still here...  after a relentless Botnet attack.   Our pool was being attacked simultaneously by over 350 computers.  We have put another layer of DDOS protection in place and it is working fine.

Our pool has mined most of the AuroraCoins so far.   1184 Blocks x 25 = 29600   .  Our pool has payed out over $740,000 worth of Auroracoins to Miners.    How many AuroraCoins has your pool mined?

Proof is in the Pudding

Please help us rise back up in the ranks and you will be rewarded with a very high performing mining pool.    When our pool was at full capacity, the network block target was averaging 10 minutes - now it's 20 minutes.   Why is that - are there many low performing pools with large hashrates?     Give us some of your hashpower and you will see the difference.

WHY MINE WITH US?
Announcing 2% Block Finder Bonus - that's approximately  $20 per Block Found
We would never set up multiple pools to compete against each other - this is not good for our customers.  We just increase capacity.
Enjoy our speedy website - no lag.  We are on Solid State Drives with a 12 cores of Xeon processors.  If we need more processing power, we'll just go to 24 cores.

Do you think that AUR will spike again to 0.12 ? Maybe 0.3 ?

I'm looking forward to see 0.1 in the next few days, maybe we can hopefully reach 0.15 again.
Depends on whales and so on...

If AUR will drop again to 0.03 like the last week, that mean on Airdrop the ppl of Iceland will receive 31.8 x 0.03 = ~1 BTC.
Do you think that ~ $600 USD is a real help for them ?

You are assuming the 100% of icelanders will cash out immediately without affecting price, and that price will remain stable at 0.03 after airdrop

No, 31.8 AUR will receive each icelander.
If the price will drop bellow 0.03, each of them will receive less than 1 BTC, that means less than $600 USD.. "Nice" help for the Ice ppl  Smiley
If you have a different opinion, please share it with us here. I mean, what will be the price on the airdrop ?

THey will receive 31.8 AUR.
It's up to them to either sell and get whatever the equivalent in BTC/EUR or hold onto the coins and sell whenever the price is right for them.

Plus, airdrop will just be the first phase of distribution.

Over the past week we experienced some issues mainly caused by DDOS attacks towards our pool.

The initial thought was to give up and close the pool down but that didn't seem fair to those who spent time and electricity to mine on our pool and for our initial commitment to the AuroraCoin project.

While we reassessed the situation our main worry was to keep the miners able to withdraw their funds

We therefore decided to re-build from scratch, ditch the old server, change mail provider, add stratum servers while still processing payouts.

We are now back and with some improvements!

Key features:

0.00001 TX fee
Minimum payout: 0.0001 AUR
2 stratum servers (1 for US, 1 for EU)

For problems you can contact us via PM here or using the contact us form on the pool.

http://aur.pool.mineabit.com/

Your pool :

Est. Shares    16,435,822 (done: 195.25%)
Pool Valid    32,090,983
Your Valid    54,869

i wont continue to mine in ur pool until i get my shares. I already watch your pool for 1 week, no new block.

That is because the pool is not finding blocks, last week we had around 600-700 Mh and we found plenty however someone didn't like that and started attacking the pool.

As a result a lot of miners left and we are not spamming here every 2 or 3 posts to advertise, just updating with relevant informations about the mining of the coin!

Do you think that ~ $600 USD is a real help for them ?

People in Iceland don't need financial help. Despite the profound economic recession following the 2008 banking sector collapse, Iceland is still 16th, 18th or 20th (depending on classifying institution) richest nation on earth if you consider the Gross Domestic Product per capita.

What Icelanders could find useful though, is a currency that is not losing between 4% and 18% of its value annually (since 2008), which is what is happening with the Icelandic króna‎ (ISK), the one currently enforced by their government and central bank. A currency that would allow the Icelandic people to do business freely with the rest of the world and which wouldn't be restricted by capital controls put in place after 2008. Only the richest people, people with close links to financial elite, have the opportunity to invest in financial products that do not suffer from devaluation. All the others can only watch their monthly ISK pay checks devalue as each day goes by.

This currency might be Auroracoin.

MY CRYPTSY ACCOUNT GOT HACKED

How the fuck did it happen? Can i get a refund? this is not even funny anymore

MY BIKE GOT STOLEN!!!

I had tied it to a tree with a piece of string. The manufacturer must reimburse me!  Angry Angry Angry

On topic:

  • Did you have a strong password with much entropy (so not a short one or e.g. one consisting of part of a song lyric or a quote from a book)?
  • Did you have 2FA enabled via e-mail or Google Authenticator?
  • Do you regularly scan your computer for viruses and malware?

Computer security should be taken as seriously as the security of your home and your valuable possessions. You have no-one to blame but yourself if you made it easy for thieves to steal your coins.
