I will pay 0.01 AUR to anyone who will mine the next block and confirm my TX for the 3rd time already.. got to dump on cryptsy yo!
Also: when the diff crashes, will the coin become insanely profitable to mine, and then create dumpers?

I really do not get why Icelanders would dump their free coins? They have 0 risk with these coins and there is a chance they could become much more then $350. Of course there is the chance for it to go to 0 but since you have no money invested why would you not wait to see if these coins go back to $100 per coin or if an infrastructure is actually built for these coins they could become as valuable as BTC. Why would you not take the risk that it is a home run. $350 is not that much money so why not see if it becomes worth some big money. My guess in the next 24 hours we will start to see some selling because people would rather have cash and not take risks.
Little Timmy doesn't give a sht about risk/reward, all he wants is his dad to cash in his coins so he can go buy a new bicycle. The only motive I can see why Icelanders would redeem the coins is so they can convert to fiat and buy something of value. If their was some infrastructure in place where you could spend the coins - before the airdrop - I think things would turn out differently.

If their was some infrastructure in place where you could spend the coins - before the airdrop - I think things would turn out differently. I think there is a higher chance of infrastructure building out now that there was an "airdrop" I definitely understand the wanting to get $350 now and not risk it. Look at how many people bailed on BTC early on. Maybe in a year this coin is 500 a coin and maybe it is 0. I just like the idea of playing with the houses money. To each there own.

Is there an actual proof of actual icelanders receiving their coins? That guy I just got my coins, still waiting for confirmations though. Has made his account after Auroracoin was announced (new account). Every person on reddit, claiming that they received their AUR, started posting after Auroracoin was announced too (new accounts). That's a little bit strange.

Icelanders use facebook, most don't use reddit. https://www.facebook.com/auroracoin.org/posts/1405092529756891?stream_ref=10Teachers are on strike, and the kids are staying up claiming coins.

What if the bicycle shop accepts aur? Exactly. This would be Ideal But I am not even saying it has to be this. This of what you can buy for $350. Those are nice items but not going to change your life. Now if AUR starts to get accepted or people do not just dump as soon as they get them and show the market that there is a chance fore this coin then you might be able to buy the Bike shop with your coins(I know I doubt it). My point is you are playing with house money if someone gives me $20 and says you can keep this or you can invest in this start up lemonade stand in the mall parking lot in summer. Ok well there is nothing saying people will buy the lemonade but there is a chance that $20 could turn into $100. $20 buys you a meal 100 could buy you a few meals. Now scale it to what this coin could become. There are lower total coin cap then BTC, you just exposed large group of people. And if those people hold and show they will not dump it the investors will follow. Your crazy if you think Whales will only invest in BTC because it was the first, If AUR has staying power they will jump in. maybe not to the extend of BTC but you will get plenty. However my gut feeling is most people will say sweet $350 I will take it and not think about crypto's again.

I know this is a approximation, but there are currently 532 outputs with a value of 31.8 AUR: abe=# select count(*) from txout where txout_value=3180000000; count ------- 533
This implies that roughly 533 Icelanders have claimed their coins. It's also consistent with the information on auroracoin.org. EDIT: 3 minutes later it's 5 more transactions.

Many people here thought there wouldn't be an airdrop, and that this was a scam. Well it's not. So already Auroracoin is a bigger success than Obamacare in the US ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) . I'm holding my Auroracoins, but this is a good time to buy. If I was an Icelander I would be selling a portion of my freecoins and converting to Bitcoin. A steady price is good for Auroracoin right now, but some infrastructure and media is what will slowly drive the price up. Great for investors, great job so far. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

What if the bicycle shop accepts aur? What if mobile phone shop accepts auroracoin.. and helps you claim them when buying one, to the phone you just bought ;-) So you could go empty handed to a shop, walk out with a brand new android tablet loaded with 25 Auroras :-P
