This implies auroracoin is already more popular than bitcoin, with 1% adoption. The crypto war has been won today. Thanks Balduro. Great idea. Best wishes to you. Many people have ideas, a few get to work to make things happen. You are one of those rare individuals.
I don't think so. I think people are claiming coins with the vodafone database leaked late 2013... There is absoluletly 0 chance that 1% of the population got in 14 hours after the airdrop...

Keep in mind that auroracoin.org is listing unconfirmed transactions, in practice the blockchain has been stuck for 4 hours on block 5277. See http://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/claims.dws for transactions that actually got in blocks. There are several thousandths transactions now pending for the next block, it'll be interesting to see how that works out...

You have to take into consideration that there is currently an ongoing teacher´s strike and there are thousands of teenagers sitting at home doing absolutely nothing. I claimed 7 transactions of 31.80AUR and 4 of them have gone through. 6 of them were family and 1 was a friend. I wouldnt mind have a crypto currency in Iceland but I´d want it someone to take responsibility if the coins are dumped suddenly. The dev with no face and a fake name to have the ability the destroy an economy of a whole country by dumping his share with 1 click..

AUR can be a success if merchants learn how to accept it as payment before consumers learn how to dump the coins on exchanges.
The clock is ticking.
In other news.. AUR has disappeared off CMC?

Nah, it will be a success it just will take time, that's all. I am glad the Icelandic people got educated even if they sell their coins, the coins will still have a lot of value in the long-term as this was a remarkable way to grow a community and educate an entire country.

It doesn't bother anyone that people in California and Australia are claiming the coins? Or that the ID number isn't only for Icelandic people? Or that there is an easily accessible database of 70,000 numbers that were hacked (i.e. I could probably go claim some coins right now. Actually....)...no doubt there is some widespread fraud here.

There's a reason the kennitala isn't used for authentication purposes...it is public information.

..aaand it's gone. Just stale datapoints, since the block explorer is down. These slow blocks get a lot of transactions, looks like auroracoind gets jammed when there are enought of them.. I have to reset auroracoind every now and then.. Trying to keep this running: http://auroraexplorer.atorox.net/chain/AuroraCoin
