Spurs, Manchester United, Leeds. 3 teams out of FA Cup so soon, Spurs is expected even Leeds but Manchester United? I guess they did get the toughest opponent of all so nothing too bad about it.

Did Leeds not win their match 3-1 to qualify to the next round? They were in the draws last night and face Birmingham in the next round. I think you may have meant Palace.
Manchester United was not a surprise to me, Brighton are a much better team than them at the moment, their internal situation with the lack of an experienced coach only makes it worse.
EFL semi-final first leg tonight. City will want to leave St James' Park with something and then go for the win at home. I expect there to be goals from both teams, with a potent attack and not so convincing defense.

City already have 1 foot in the final. Newcastle could not handle their wing threat and did not pose much in an attacking sense. They should have defended the 1 goal deficit they had and not open up which led to them conceding another.

Arsenal were good against Chelsea, I do not think we suffered enough to have conceded 2 goals which makes the second leg a bit more edgy.

Surely Liverpool can beat Burnley at Anfield on Saturday, I know we’ve been average for a lot of the season so far but you have to expect to beat Burnley at home surely.

It's important 3 points for Liverpool or otherwise they'd be playing with fire. If they go through another month of draws and losses, I think Brentford, Newcastle, Manchester United and Chelsea would be smelling blood. With regards to the 4th UCL qualifier, it's looking rough for all of them. Aston Villa is in a decent position and since they are a very strong team at home, I don't expect them to drop too many points. They could still drop out of the top, but I think it is not likely. Chelsea and a few other teams are able to take that 4th spot though. It's not going to be a relaxed season for LFC.

Another City win, they can only make one mistake which is to defend the lead. And I doubt they do it even though Pep is known to do such things.

Pep has been more practical in some matches this season but I also do not think he will try to defend the lead, a team that is set to attack more often than not cannot simply switch and play a low block.

Arsenal and City in the final, thats the most likely outcome here.

If this happens, whoever wins will have a boost in their race for the EPL title. Soon after the final both teams should be meeting in the league too for the return leg.

But since it is Pep, he knows how to let his team play ball possession and he has Haaland for the counters. I think this is a safe loss for Newcastle. It would be a miracle if they come back from this. I understand it is not the best Manchester City ever, but Newcastle is not the best Newcastle either. There could be one way out and this is when Newcastle scores first early enough because that would at least inflict some pressure on Manchester City players.

He always has been a possession based team but he recently has been able to adapt in some games to play a mid block and hit on the counter with quick wingers and Haaland holding on to the ball in the middle of the park to release someone rather than trying to play their way through with very controlled possession.

There could be one way out and this is when Newcastle scores first early enough because that would at least inflict some pressure on Manchester City players.

It does not even have to be early, they just have to get the first goal of the game, even at the hour mark it will make the remaining 30 minutes very interesting.

This is precisely the psychological trap: City were constantly focused on Arsenal and the title, never considering the possibility of falling out of the top three. And now they're unlikely to think about Aston Villa overtaking them, but rather about losing the title race. If they can't change their mindset, they're in trouble (which is what I'm hoping for, after all, they finished 3rd last year, so why shouldn't they finish even lower this year?).

That's right and as I found that ball possession game unbelievable attractive when he still trained Barcelona, it's a fact that he never had a team composed of so many strong ball possession players like he had there. Whether you consider the best Bayern team he had or the best Manchester City team he had, both were not on the level of the best Barcelona team he had. Haaland doesn't benefit from nonstop ball possession at all. He has high speed and such a strong physique that he needs to get into game scenarios that play in his favor and very high ball possession is not really the perfect condition for him.

That's of course right, as long as they score the first goal, the game will inevitably become interesting again. One goal against them and I think it would be over. Scoring three times against Manchester City at home would be a miracle.

For some reason I felt that with the way the game went yesterday and Carrick's scheme it just didn't seem like the Manchester United I knew in the Amorim and ETH era lol.
Their counterattacks were very good, the players seemed quite active in attack and defense and of course Carrick's record is still unbreakable until now for the Interim carried out.

Yeah, one bright game followed by some sluggish ball movement against an underdog—we've seen that pattern many times before. Even with Amorim, if United hadn't dropped points in just a few games against clear underdogs, they'd be in 3rd or 4th place. LOL. I hope that this time everything will be different. It's a shame Arsenal didn't cement their huge lead yesterday, but even with the favourites' draw, their pursuers are even worse. Looking forward to the next round and the Arsenal vs United game, it will be interesting if United can prove themselves here too.

Stranger things have happened, and City are actually bolstered by quite good talents. So it's still a surprising loss. Arsenal, meanwhile, are taking the safe approach, I hope they don't discover this safety is only illusory. When you don't play to win, bad things happen to you.

I am aware of the irony that Liverpool played to beat all three relegation spot occupiers and failed to beat any of them...
