What is CharityCoin?
CharityCoin is a new cryptocurrency with a single goal and purpose, to become the world’s number one charitable cryptocoin helping to fund raise for charities across the globe. CharityCoins’ strengths lay within its community as ten percent of all mined coins are added to the CharityCoin donation fund and distributed to our supported charities.

Why CharityCoin?
Charity Coin was formerly known as CancerCureCoin. After considering the feedback of the community we decided to rename and restructure this coin. Many people suggested that we broad its horizons by not only target Cancer Research but many other causes
With the spike in the creation of alt coins and after seeing that most of them are merely about making a quick profit, our Team gathered to build something real with the main goal of contributing to charities around the world.
This coin will bring more awareness to the issue, will work as a medium of advertisement for cryptocurrencies and become a valuable source of charity funds.

How is it charitable?
Every mined Block will generate 10% directly to the Fund Wallet
Eight percent of the wallet will be used to for donations to a number of causes which will receive wallets and be promoted in our website. This receiving organizations will be chosen by vote in a public poll.
The last wallet receiving two percent will be used for marketing and supporting CharityCoins' future as a strong currency.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

We would like to have it completely finished by today but many difficulties arised on the making of this Coin.
We are pre launching it because we promised many people it would be done on World Cancer Day which is today!
Volunteers are welcome and we are offering bounties for some of the remaining work. Suggestions are always welcome.
We hope CancerCoin will help in the search of a cure.
Cheers

pool?
We are reaching to the community to please set up pools. We hope that by tomorrow afternoon at least a couple will be up and running.

Many people are getting involved, one being a bookeeper who reached to us and volunteered to keep ledgers. We would like to make this as transparent as it can be by posting all transaction on a public document.

This truly is a cause worth supporting!

You will have my meager 400 kH/s, which is all the power I have.

All the best, and I hope we will get noticed, since this cause deserves it!

Any help will be of great value. Web designers, Social media gurus, pools, programmers, you name it. This is everyone's coin.
Maybe this will be the last small push needed towards a cure.

I'd love to support a cause like this, however i can' stop wondering if you guys are not just in this for a few quick bucks.

Names like this one might attract a lot of people who'd like to help out a for a good cause, wich would in turn create some value for the coin. But what's going to stop you from just cashing out as soon as the price is right for you guys.

Just asking to prevent bad usage of names like this one to prevent casting a dark shadow on the crypto-community.

It might be wise to announce wich research funds you're going to donate to and maybe even give some proof of you actually having talked to these funds about this.

Just my two cents

Okay, this name might be a bad idea.

Still, if it delivers what it promises, it's worth supporting - though it needs to be very transparent with what it does. And this 1% for "marketing and other purposes" is a little concerning.

Hi  Fastpow
Those are very good questions.
Our intentions are far from cashing out on it. There is no premine on the coin and the funds come slowly as it is mined by the community.
We won't decide who will receive those funds. There will be a voting pool where everyone on the community will nominate and choose the Organizations who will be gifted with the CancerCoin wallets. Now this wallets will be on their hands long before the coin appreciates and  they will be asked to hold it until it reaches a great value for maximum benefit.
We will also get the press heavily involved on this movement so there will be accountability.
Also, donations will be directed to these organizations with none of us taking part on collecting these CancerCoins.
We agree with your concern for the reputation of the crypto community. We also believe that, if done correctly,it will be beneficial to this community. We are not a community fueled by greed. We are also compassionate!

The name is perfect!
It will be transparent as glass.
1% of coins that are mined is way different than a 1% premine coin as the money is slowly allocated to the wallets .   Even for the bounties and giveaways we will need to wait for weeks before we can release it to the bounty hunters since that's what will take for those few coins to be generated.
There will always be costs no matter if it is a charity or not and their is no way a small group of people can take on all this costs for the greater benefit. Our team alone has already donated on the thousands to get it developed.

Oh Lord! I hope you will be the one removing us from the list when we prove you wrong! Smiley

And please remove the image. There will be many serious people with real Cancer stories who won't find your crude sense of humor amusing. Cancer is a serious subject and should not to be mocked by juveniles in the internet.
