Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I doubt that bitcoin can be dethroned! Of course bitcoin is an outdated coin compared to new ones! But this is the first cryptocurrency! It sets the price for the entire crypto market!

Based on this statement I am not agree because bitcoin is the father of crypto currency also this has huge market value and investors but new coins like eth or ripple or altcoins cant not take its positions because btc is already developed and lots of investors many people trade with this currency so it so tough.

Is not that easy to overthrown such major crypto as you can see sometimes you just need to understand the volatility of the crypto market that something like this may happen we only need to be patience because storm don't last forever let's just remove negative thoughts on our mind the price will recover sooner.

There are a lot of rumor right now while the value of bitcoin is decreasing that is can be potentially be overthrown. i know for a fact the bitcoins technology is kind of outdated compared to the new ones coming out of the market, but the coins value is so high right now and is also wildly known because of this popularity bitcoin invites new investors in the platform.I think ETH would be the toughest contender in overthrowing the coin perhaps it also has grown popularity over the couple of years of its existence and is also continuing to grow.
Can bitcoin can be potentially overthrown by other coins? what are you thoughts? and what coins do you think can out run bitcoin?
What does overthrown mean, just taking the Number 1 Position or wiping it out? I think Bitcoin will stay very important in the coming years while it‘s impossible to say how big will be it‘s dominance compared to now. There are some strong contenders that offer more updated tech but it all is irrelevant when nobody cares about them. |

I'd try to guess. All miners will work at a loss if Bitcoin is below $4,500. Thet's why Bitcoin may disappear or give up its crown to another coin such as ETH, for example. The most realistic scenario, IMHO |

Some of the coins that are coming are trying to get to the top spot but Bitcoin still maintain the confidence of the community, ethereum is a strong contender, but we must not forget some coins are coming with a better technology, we'll see this in the next two years. |

Bitcoin will not be overthrown but will continue to grow rapidly in 2018 as well as in subsequent years. Because at the moment I see BTC trading volume increasing day by day despite the decline in the exchange rate. This is a positive sign that the future cryptocurrency and BTC market will be very sturdy, so invest and hold long-term BTC.

I've never think that bitcoin will overthrown by other coins even bitcoin will fall deeply. Looking out all existing coins in the market and considering their price gap they are totally far from Bitcoin, even Ethereum couldn't do that. |

I think so. Its possible. Bitcoin is the ultimate crypto and the one that started it all. For now, I think bitcoin will remain on the throne for the next 10 to 15 years or even longer. Its hard to dethrone the original but its possible. Right now there are a lot of crypto out there. Surely one of those will have the potential to surpass bitcoin but it will take a long time before it happens.

For me I think at the moment there is not coin that can overthrown bitcoin because bitcoin still control the market, maybe in the future we might have but as at now, bitcoin still leads

it can be. there are something in this world that can't be remain for a long time being a lack of development and some volatility there are some possibilities that bitcoin will be overthrown by other coins like ETH.
it is impossible because the bitcoin itself altcoin is the strongest and so bitcoin is not possible to roll in then from now on even though the bitcoin price is decreasing there are still many people who invest in Bitcoin in the short term and wait for the price of Bitcoin back, let alone the market also still not recovered |

In crypto, chances are always there, but there seems to be an altcoin that can approach Bitcoin is something very difficult. If we look at the market, then we will know that the trend on global coins is almost always the same. Perhaps the percentage of fluctuations is different, but if the trend is always the same, there does not seem to be any altcoin capable of overthrowing Bitcoin.

I really do not see any coin being able to take over bitcoin at this point. None of the other coins are doing well enough in terms of market prices and value for me to consider them to be able to surpass bitcoin. Maybe in the future there might be a coin that will end up doing better than bitcoin. Anything is possible but for now bitcoins till remains the king of all the coins
