Good day, just want to share my experience,
I am using 2fa as my security in my emails and exchange accounts, so one day I nearly lost my phone and that phone holds majority of my pins, 2fa, etc. so I thought I lost all, luckily I found the phone. So now I'm thinking of buying an extra phone for backup. What else do you recommend for backup?
For most of the 2FA applications at least for authy, it allows you to back up all your stuff with a password which I believe with your username and your phone number, this can be retrieved easily, so I have never imagined that to be a problem in the case of me losing my phone as long as I remember every single details of my email account.

It is good though having an extra phone as a backup in cases where you end up losing one and that is reasonable as there is no harm in it.

When installing two-factor protection, the most important thing is to save your QR code, with which you can restore access from any other device. If you do not do this and lose the phone, then you can no longer log in to your account.

I was thinking about it also. Its really hard if you lost your phone with important details regarding your investments. I am not that techie if ever i lost my phone this might be a disaster for me. Maybe i will use the phone of my wife as my back up if somethings happen. And also back in email would be nice too. Using some hardware wallets is also a good option especially if you have big amount coins. Hackers will do anything just to have easy money.
I think we share the sane level of fear here. I know why I do not like the Google authenticator thing is because of stories about how users can not get access to sites or their funds once the device to which that authenticator is tied to is lost. I like sites that give option of SMS and emails and most websites are beginning to have this options too.

I agree, hackers will do everything just to break your security, always make sure that you are updated with all the latesr security that you can have, since information this days are more valuable than money, hackers can easily blackmail you or worst, steal your money and break into your home. It is much better to take caution than trying undo what they had done, since the are times that hackers are more skilled than the rest of us, and though they can't get away with it, the damage is already done.

I'll recommend it if you have 2 back ups that you cannot handle everyday and the is you hide it for security purposes because it so risky now that you have one cellphone only that you can secured your files etc. so be advance that if you lose the one you can change or monitor it if others manipulate it.

This is the best thing that we must ponder all the time, that all important information that we have especially our private files should have a back up copy. Because like what you have said you accidentally lost your celphone and then all important files that you have are stored in your celphone and you don't have any back up. So its a very big problem, that's why I recomend you my friend to save your files in your private USB storage, external storage devices and also your personal laptop for security reason.

interesting suggestions to keep the safety and privacy of the email by using the code through the mobile phone number and it is commonly done and the advantages and disadvantages are more or less like you, my suggestion you have to have two mobile phone number, the first is special to accept unnecessary phone and sms whichever is only where you work and the second special number for mobile life style browsing sosmedia and so on, there I avoid the weakness of excellence when we use the phone connection system with email, and my second suggestion connect with your most important email with additional emails, once again aiming to simplify and complicate access to major emails and additional emails, hopefully useful and successful always

I am not making back ups of QR code, if ever, can I be able to access again those QR code? I already used 2FA but failed to make back ups, so now I am worried what will happen when my phone lost or break. I think I should really make back up a habit from now  on.

So what would you have done if you would have had lost your phone? Isn't that less safer to have then?

Losing my phone is a mini-heart attack for me that's why I really take care of this all the time. If I lose this my social media, bitcointalk and digital wallet (it is secured tho) accounts will now go to those "lucky hands" so I can't really afford to lose it.

To give solution for this, I made a list for all of my usernames, pins and passwords of my accounts in a piece of paper and place it to a safe place so that I'll have a backup. I just really wish that the "lucky person" who will get my phone is not an IT expert, it is much safer that way because there's a big chance that he will just do Factory Reset to remove the screen lock and  access my phone — meaning, all datas will be deleted and the system will go back to its default before he can have it.

I like your idea of having an extra phone. Honestly, I think of that already, sooner or later I will buy 2 more phones so that I will now have 3 in total: one for gaming, one for my crypto businesses that I will only use in our home and one that I'll use on public areas.

The best solution really is to have a 2nd phone. But I want to know what phone you have, because if you have an Android you can at least deactivate it with your Google account, if you lose your phone.

I have activated 2FA authentication to my wallets and other trading logins. Have earlier set up one time PIN generated as well.  All hardware devices can be used for back ups, like hard disk, pen drives, backing up under google account and etc. Backing up in any one of these ways can save your important dates is a must doing. It's good that you brought this topic.

I think you should not buying new phone just for back up your 2FA. You can back up the bar code and restore the 2FA. I am already have experience about this and lucky for me, i am back up that code, so when i have a new phone, i am just filling that code on google autheticator

Definitely backup is important  especially nowadays that alot of hackers. And incase you lose any of your soft copy,it is important to have also the hardcopy.Mostly, wallet addresses that are having private keys are important to have a back up. And when you like using mobile and lose it so all important info or file saved in there it is important to have a copy or backup.

Yes backup is important, I think when it comes to make surely and fully secured to our important Private key or any details regarding to our private account we need to send it into our own email to yahoo mail, g-mail, or face book, just to be secured ourselves and lastly you just need to have extra pocketbook and all your details must be in your pocketbook for quick access if you do not want to open your account.

If you have forgotten the information you just traded and do not have the backup feature, it is difficult for you to lose the data you need to know about important backups.

Well, Its a very important to have a back up for all of your account, because sometimes you will suddenly forget something or you can lose suddenly your phone. And you should always make a back up and store it on your laptop, tablet or if you hesitate to put it on your gadgets than can be be hacked or can be deleted, maybe you can write it on a piece of paper so that even though you lose your gadgets at least you have a copy in a paper. Always be prepared and have a plan to store your files in a safe place.
