Here's a new question. What about Codex scalabity? Its name can have very wide meaning. Could it become some of new marketplace not only for arts, etc.?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Nice idea! As for me name "Codex" is universal so they could add something new to the platform. However I'm not sure the token can be used for whatever we want...

This is not planned at this time, but if a 3rd-party developer wishes to implement the protocol for other things - in theory, no one would stop them. Its focus is on A&C though. Besides art, you can also think of classical cars, guitars etc. There's a big market for it Smiley

I am reading your thread on the forum, it's very helpful!
Is there any info about safe data storing at codex?
I wondered how that would be achieved in practice.

Speaking about scaling the platform to become something more than just an auction and art market platform...I guess it can't.It's too hard.

Why do you think so? Sure, it would be hard to compete with Amazon haha whatever, why can't they just try? It would help markets to evolutionize.

Secrecy and confidentiality are indeed important in the art world.

I don't think blockchain will change this.

I think that people should be entitled to share what they want and be private about what they want.  In Codex, users control the privacy of their data.  That's one of the greatest benefits of the blockchain.

Blockchain also ensures that the source of any information they do share is verified.

This was Mark Lurie's answer about security from the recent AMA on the Codex telegram: https://t.me/codexprotocol

I guess team chose this sector because they are true art enthusiasts, so they will decide. You should remember that there are no (as far as I know) big players on the art market, so they can become the leader.

If I understand correctly that the project will have an online appraiser function? Not bad, if I, for example, want to sell a thing that is not yet in the register  Smiley

Every thing that can be sold will have its own identification number. This will allow to keep records of such items, highlight the most popular and sold items

I think that the best-selling items will be coins and paintings

What are the advantages of codex in front of other technologies?
Hi there,

Codex puts provenance on the blockchain and is open source, which means that it will provide an infrastructure for all players in the A&C ecosystem who need proof of ownership while also preserving privacy. This includes bidders, sellers, as well as third-party players—including art insurers, collateralized lenders and art logisticians—who can build applications and utilize the title system. Biddable, which is a title-escrow system for the $125B auction market, is aimed toward auction houses and bidders.
- For bidders, Biddable will provide access to auctions, especially for international buyers and cryptoholders who don’t have translated or verifiable financial records.
- Today, auction houses lose substantial revenue to bidders who renege on items they win. Because of this, auction houses require extensive financial disclosures from potential bidders just to participate. Biddable will eliminate the need for this invasive process through the use of the title-escrow system.

Whitelisting for the first day of the sale is over, but you can start KYC for the second day of the sale (which is open to all eligible participants) already, do check it out: https://www.codexprotocol.com/token-sale.html

CodexProtocol is partnering with ValueMyStuff, a network of former Sotheby's and Christie's experts who will provide appraisals and validate Codex Records.

Yes, I talked about this. I saw an article on the site about this. The work of appraisers will be to handle new things that were not previously available for sale?
