Time will come when such incidents will become a past, but in this case most of African countries are unfortunately far behind of some developed countries. They transport fiat money on this way because for now it is only way to do it, and poverty with high crime rate lead to such cases. The transition to digital currencies would certainly be something positive, but imagine how hard is to make this possible in Africa. Europe, North America or Japan are working on cryptocurrency regulation for years, but we are still far away from fiat switching to 100% digital money.

When that time is come I have no doubt that hackers will find ways to continue to steal money from people, but not any more on the roads or in banks, they will do that from their houses or internet cafes. This method of thievery exist already today, and it will increase in future.

it is mostly digitalization though not just bitcoin. for example when we use our bank cards (debit cards?) instead of cash that is exactly what you mean and it has nothing to do with bitcoin. the problem is people still continue to use cash so it won't solve this unless it is a 100% removal of any usage of cash which is impossible. at least for many years.

In fact I think this problem will not be solved if what we change is the system turning the use of money into bitcoins. because if money does not exist anymore, then the criminals will hunt bitcoin. so in my opinion this is not a matter of money or bitcoin that became the main, but in because the bad people are still there.
you got the point,it doesnt matter if what is the target either bitcoin or paper money, whats the issue here bad guys existence maybe the solution is the security of that valuable currency ,and the economic crisis that push this people turns to bad, many of this criminals are only after themoney to support their familys needs its only few whos not in this consideration

Criminals will definitely find a way around getting to your coins.

Agreed. Criminals are always the first to find a way to game the system, and it works for them every single time till it doesn't work anymore, and then they again will find a way to get what they want.

Crypto holders have more than ever become a target and it's only going to get worse. At some point people won't even dare to say they own crypto anymore, because it's very likely going to work against you.

Benefit of crypto for everyone is that we own everything that we have, but once it's gone it's gone for ever. Immutable ledgers aren't meant to roll back just to solve a large theft or other situations where coin loss occurred. People need to be aware of how everything works, and I think that the average joes aren't really that interested in maintaining their own wealth. They will always prefer to have an external party take care of their wealth.

Yes bitcoin will save lives of the people. Safe to use, fast and secure, convenient for doing business. No robbery, no stealers outside world. However there are still disadvantages for using it like the people who does not know this at first will probably regrets why he did not know bitcoin at the beginning.

Terrible to hear the news, this proves more dangerous crime theft by humans compared to the crime of hackers.
a crime committed by a Hacker will only hurt your money loss, but if theft happens in the real world it's not just money lost but life can be lost.
this already proves how much more dangerous his theft is in the real world, are we still going to use paper money to make transactions?

Lol...Funny dude (though this ain't funny). The title actually got my attention. You should remember that people will always fall prey. They that die transiting cash when they could've moved it online are low thinking individuals (I am just struggling to be mild with language here). We are in a cashless society and people should stick to digital means of moving cash. On the other hand, OP what makes you think that we don't have bitcoin heists? Haven't you heard of instances were hodlers have been traced to their homes and beaten up to give up their passwords and private keys? If you haven't, please google that for It's in the air.

So if you are so smart, come up with a alternative method to stop people from being killed, whilst cash is moved from one point to the next or when you have to deal with it on your premises.

I can manage my risk with very innovative thinking and problem solving, but you just accept the risk and have the balls to criticize other people who want to change the world with new ideas? <Most people do not worry about this, because they are not directly affected. These guys die protecting other people's wealth>

A Cashless society is inevitable, because technology will replace Fiat currencies soon. <Most first world countries are already using mostly debit and credit cards for payment>

Bitcoin can help to fast track that process to a cashless world. Cash is not environment friendly and it is expensive and also not practical, like bitcoins or crypto currencies.

Silly thing. So you're tellin me cops and government can't force young guys die for their Bitcoin (instead of fiat)? Do you understand that sounds silly.

Do you know how silly you sound now? I never said that cops and governments are forcing anyone to give up their money.  Roll Eyes I say, the fact that we are forced to use cash, because it is our reserve currency, makes attacks like this so much easier, because large amounts of cash in transit is a bigger target for these criminals.

Do not comment on things, if you cannot grasp the basic concept of the discussion, because that makes you sound silly.  Grin

Indeed its digitalisation itself which can help reduce such incidences. I think there should be more than this, government themselves should take care of such things from happening and must look after this. The implementation of the digital payment system and transfer of the money Reserve Banks to local banks would be great chance to secure the funds itself, they can increase the safety of employees and much more. I think government should educate people to use digital payment options more than cash and for that to happen they should stop printing the cash itself.

Yes, I agree with the author's idea wherein if bitcoin will be adopted by the people then it could perhaps lessen such incidents. Bad elements of the society can no longer do such criminal acts because people are into digital currency adoption and no longer use more on fiat money. People should be learning more on bitcoin and the blockchain technology for their awareness on how it can be use smoothly.

A good realization. But come to think of it, bitcoin wasnt made to replace fiat. It is mainly a digital money and its main purpose is for sending out to different parts of the world. Bitcoin now has evolved since many merchants accept it as payment. But this doesnt mean we have to eliminate fiat and use bitcoin

Well it is also one of the advantage of bitcoin now. Smiley

Bitcoin adoption can save lives, can save the manpower needed for that money to be moved can save the fuel bills, the electricity used in the banks and etc.... can be saved if we used crypto currencies.

so do you really think that bitcoin is a life saver? is bitcoin a medicine or a hospital beacause he can save life? no it isnt. bitcoin adoption cant save lives but rather it can only improve the way that people live because when people use bitcoin aside from fiats , we can enable a high speed and low cost money transfer across the globe plus we can also use bitcoin as an asset in order to earn a profit .

bitcoin adoption can also give a good impact to its current value because if many people knows about the existence of bticoin , im pretty sure that those people will started to buy and invest on it , which can then  result for price increase.

There are many people all over the world who do their all works through paper money or fiat currency. To do their business they need to carry millions of cash every day. They also fall some accident at every day. People trying to digitalize the fiat currency. The bank also provide internet banking and mobile banking. But still they need to handle the cash. Because the other party of their business are not habituated with the digital money. As the bitcoin is fully digital currency, so if we fully use this currency then many life will safe every year. And sooner or later it will be implemented.

Well, it is not as if governments could not think of better solutions, one of these solutions may be the one you just said, but while some die others get rich. I'll be clearer:

The banks are created by people from the government's elite, there are security companies created by the government elites to transport money from one bank to another and even to make the security of those same banks. This elite will not accept your idea because with this they will no longer make money.

Agreed, but adoption of Bitcoin will reduce "Cash" on your premises and this will reduce cash transports. If you were a robber and you had to chose a target between a merchant that are cash only and another merchant that has a "Bitcoin accepted here" sticker in the window, which one will you target?

I can imagine how in the future criminals would be mugging Bitcoin users and robbing stores that accept Bitcoin, because it would be better for them than bank, since Bitcoin will always have some degree of anonymity and will always be irreversible, unlike banks. There will be some complications when compared to cash, like the need to scan QR and the possibility of double-spend of unconfirmed transactions, but violent Bitcoin and crypto robberies are already happening, there were many reports about people getting robbed at gunpoint in their homes or on the streets. So, Bitcoin will save some lives due to digitalization and making practices like armored trucks obsolete, but security wise it will always like gold or cash.

Most merchants aren't dealing with Bitcoin anyway. All that happens when people use Bitcoin to pay for goods is that services such as BitPay convert it to fiat and have it sent to the merchant's bank account.

Even in case merchants do accept Bitcoin directly, they can choose to store their coins elsewhere. No one will ever find out where the merchant in question has set up its wallets.

The only entities being in some form of a dangerous position are the users. If whatever ill minded person sees how you pay with Bitcoin in a store, he can follow you and demand your coins in a not so friendly way.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

I really doubt that a real adoption can happen anytime soon, that is the main reason of why i think that a lot of things can happen ,but it will not happen soon
