In my own opinion, I do not see ethereum dethroning bitcoin as the best cryptocurrency there is. Bitcoin is the first and the forerunner in crypto and it would take a lot to beat it, not to mention its curtent number of users (yes, that can change but it may due to some unexpected reason)

I don't think its gonna happen! BTC will remain to the throne. ETH has far beyond from btc. As we all know bitcoin is often used as a gateway to cryptocurrency by many newbie investors. I think newbie moves the market price of btc that's why it moves fast. From the current market today, mostly of all altcoin is following the movement of bitcoin.

Well ethereum has  promising features, it have a good performance in crypto and of course had a great potential. Ethereum is the most popular altcoin that second to bitcoin and I agree it wouldn't replace   bitcoin this coming 2019.

Bitcoin is still dominant by all means, we might say that ETH have a greater chances to be overthrown by other top altcoins for its network has encounter some lots of problems but if we look at the exchange ratio ETH had gained a lot of position. From 1:20 BTC/ETH exchange ratio last year and this month it take about 1:10 ratio, so the value of ETH got high and for the next 5 years if ETH improves a lot then it might be closer to btc value like 1:5.

I do not think this is a feasible prediction. ETH is very potent, but evolution takes more time. In addition, altcoin is increasingly balanced and ETH is still the most awaited and trusted platform. But it will be hard to beat bitcoin.

We know that ethereum are having a good performance,  a lot of uses and huge potential. Ethereum is the second most attractive altcoin that good for investment in long term. Honestly it's very hard to predict on what will happen in 2026 but in 2019 it's impossible to beat the king.

Unlikely, look at the crypto market, the ETH is falling sharply against the BTC, so how the ETH can overcome the BTC while it is currently only about 1/13 BTC.

This can't.  I dare to affirm.  eth is currently very popular especially the ico projects that use eth.  But that is not enough for eth to overtake btc in a short time 2019. Yes it will. BTC has already conceded dominance to the "rest of market", at current market caps with ETH about half value of BTC its quite likely to catch and become the largest coin within 12-18 mth.  This is nothing to fear.

I don't think ethereum can overtake or can pass bitcoin, it is very impossible to happen, because bitcoin is the main coin that introduce by cryptocurrency business from the start, when cryptocurrency business was born. And the management of cryptocurrency business develops bitcoin as the leading coin when we compare to any newly born coin today and those newly born crypto coin today are very far from bitcoin status, and even ethereum develops it's market value today but that is not a reason that ethereum can over pass to bitcoin, because the price of ethereum is also very far from bitcoin price, and ethereum price is only belong to hundreds and not even happens that it becomes one thousands, unlike bitcoin price that reach up to $20,000 before.

Ethereum must be increase its price by 14x to surpassing btc price at the current price on coinmarketcap.
This is a hard task for eth, but in cryptocurrency everything seems to be possible.
If eth price surpass the btc price, then the market cap for ethereum will be very very big.

Well I think with this current value of BTC and ETH I think ETH wont pass BTC value in 2019 because even if the value of BTC drop down for now still it has a large gap compare to ETH so theres no way that ETH pass BTC next year.
