Well, I just got scammed

I wanted to participate in the Iagon pre-sale.  I joined what I thought was the official Iagon telegram.  Turned out it wasn't.  I followed the instructions on the pinned message, which directed me to send ETH to a specified wallet address.  Turned out it was all a scam, and I lost 5 ETH. 

Really sucks.  The lesson is be careful out there.

I am very sorry, you should check carefully on their home page and on the battery pack telegram on it, they are specifically informed in any ICO project, if you get mail asking you to send the number of ETH I'm afraid scam, including the email address you send me is correct or not, because they can not send out the message to each other but through the mail server system, they can hardly do more work together. At one time, the best way to do this was via the official website and the telegram channel where many people watched

Where you found telegram group link? And why you thought it's a legit one? I think it's your mistake so there is nothing to complain about . At the begin you only should take telgram group link from ANN thread in this forum or from website only and don't forget to check number of member in telegram group to not join wrong group and get scammed one more time

You have to be careful. at this time a lot of fake telegram groups made by fraudsters. If you are asked to send a coin directly without having to go through the official web, you should reject it, because it is a fraud

I have often had similar situations. Especially when I got on scam when I participated in bounty campaigns. It's really hard to experience it.. But it makes me choose bounty more careful..

And I have this bounty, the company introduced and it seemed to me that this is a serious organization. And I'm sorry your that 5 Ethereum has gone to fraudsters. Today there are a lot of scammers. Every day they come up with different schemes of income.

check and recheck, etherscan the address they have u sending too, do your best to look at every possible angle someone can take to scam you, 5 eth is alot hopefully the next ico u jump on can get u some of that back.

I feel bad that you have scammed you should doubled check the telegram if its official or not. Next time to know if its a scam or not you should ask questions to your friends who knows better than you to make sure if its a scam or not and better check the members in the telegram.

Sorry to hear about your losses, there are plenty of scammers around. It is better to check the contract address properly before sending your ETH over. And don’t ever send your ETH to an address posted in telegram or anywhere.

this is very sad man, sorry anbout your loss, i also had such a painful experience although i notified the main group about the scam telegram group. Always join every ICO telegram group via their website, that way you are sure of joining the right channel

For newbies out there it should be a combination of all the links to identify which one is the real official. Alot of telegram groups nowadays are fake or even before because of airdrops. The cryptos that is already trading were a trend with an airdrop but when you check their site which can have the official social links, they were not doing one. So be careful and do the extra mile to be safe.

It was a great loss 5ETH isn't small money.  This will teach all of us participating in icos to be extremely careful and vigilant.

Oh my bad, , You should be careful next time if you want to participate in a project and investing in it, 5 ETH is really a big amount to lose. These days there are a lot of projects that have the objective to scam people, they use a lot of tricky methods for that purpose. I know that there are a lot of people here can be scammed by these projects, I advise them to be more careful and search a lot about any project you want to invest in it before any move.

The legit telegram group of Iagon has many members in telegram. We should be careful in joining a group in telegram as this is one of many scams, many people there are chatting the investors just to scam. 5 eth is a huge amount this is serves as your lesson so the very next time you should be careful.

Iagon is one of the top tier projects at the moment, I'm sure there are many cheats that will behave in the name of Iagon to deceive someone, be careful if you want to invest, especially with a large amount

Oh, that must be really painful man, unfortunately, scammers got what they want. Their shady tactics are more and more sophisticated every day. They will never vanish from this space and that is the reason why we should be really careful. If I want to invest, I double-check sites and social media (at least) all the time. Well, sometimes even this tactic does not pay off and people are screwed as they lost their savings. On the other hand, it was a lesson for every single reader of this topic and thanks for sharing your experience, we should keep our information channels updated, especially if we are talking about scams. ICO related scam is a real pain for the serious investors.  With fake channel, fake avatar doing dm etc, seen countless times people lost money with this sht (especially on telegram).  Just do you own research, making sure everything is legit before a transaction guys.
