Currently on the coinmarketcap site only about 1590 projects compared to at times more than 1700 projects. They have left many projects without developers or scam projects. I personally invested in some of these projects and lost a lot of money like bitconect and centra. Do you trust the projects you are investing in and will keep them for a long time until they succeed or are they just looking for profit in the short term?

There are several possible explanations for that result. First of all, the market situation has changed rapidly from bull to bear one. Secondly, most of lending coins are the scam one because they have not brought true value to their investors (bitconect, bitedu, Regalcoin, etc...) and the MLM system was not only strictly prohibited by U.S regulator but many countries in the world also. Lastly, it's the law of natural discharges for both startup projects and investors.

Market condition is not good and perhaps they don't have enough preparation to launch ICO project. I still trust the project but I have rules and limit to keep my asset safe and get minimal risk when enter the market. This time join project is not good, leave it and replace your money into currency. Wait and see but never lost faith with crypto.

Many many projects are dead and even more will die, soon the market is no longer going to function in this unregulated way as it has been, and when it's getting regulated there's not much room for as much garbage as there is today. It's like the IT bubble, how many useless companies were made during this time and disappeared shortly afterwards?
Be careful with your investments, invest in actual real world usage things (and don't invest in anything that promises high returns as a selling point, because that's not how any serious business handles themselves)

If you do want to invest and don't want to get stuck with another bitconnect, I wrote a thread here you might find useful or maybe you have some input Smiley

This is very good advice, and to keep sanity and sanctity of market alive we all need to believe and retain our faith.

Indeed, every project must have a good preparation to face the market when it improves and the market is less friendly, so it should be thought of and coordinated by the team and dev so that under no circumstances will the market conditions remain on its performance.

Preparation for what? Don't spread another bullshit about that. the majority of projects have created by competence person still running and they don't need any preparation for that. If the project has created by such an amateur person and it needs so many preparation just like look for proffesional developer lol

I've realized that there are many ICO projects that will die because most of ICO project is a scam, therefore, I am more inclined to make short term investments in ICO projects, but I also hold some tokens for long term investments because project teams are active in updating their project development, they are active in communicating with investors, development in line with the original plan etc. So I think investors need to monitor the progress of the project to consider their long term investment because the project does not always run consistently with the original concept or plan

Most of the abandoned projects are dead but yes, some of them are (not) actually dead if there were a community which still runs until today. The best reason for why a project can be dead is their developer scammed the investors, all of their social media are gone immediately after the ICO ends.

We just need to watch what is team doing, if they are working hard then it's not scam. It's better to invest and hold for a long time to make huge profit but you need to choose project carefully

If the projects are within Top 100 then we can say that they are more trusted than the rest of the projects. I guess rest of the 1400 projects are really shit one or they should at least show the potential to grow in the future and try to enter into Top 100. If they are putting their end of the deal then obviously we are entering the correct market and we can have some more faith. To be honest this market doesnt need 1000+ projects. Most of them are shit, getting greedy fro the money and copy paste work etc. So just stick to the formula of Top 100!

Crypto market isn't like the past years that you could invest in any project and end up making a profit from it. Now you have to carefully research the projects and then invest in them cause most of the new projects are turning out to be scams. Also not every coin could turn out to be a successful one.

I am holding a part of my money in altcoins. Generally speaking most of them are on historical lows and my balance of altcoins is about -80% from ICO prices and the total amount is ridiculous small so I have decided to hold them because it is absurd to sell my altcoins with such low prices.

A lot of projects have already died out and as time goes on even more of the projects will die out. A lot of the new projects that you are seeing now will end up dying out in a couple of months or a couple of years because then no body would be using or investing in the coins. This is why you should do a lot of research into any coin that you are putting your money into.

In many cases it was simple way to take money from trustful investors. Lack of knowledge and rules in this area are the reasons of many fraudulent ICO’s. Now people are afraid of ICOs and that’s why crypto’s going down.
